Chapter five Liam's POV (The date)
I decided to take Jessie to dinner and some place special. I told her it was a formal event, so wear a dress. I wore my black jacket over a plain white shirt, black dress pants, and my dads nice shoes. We had reservations at six and it was five thirty. I drove to pick Jessie up.
I went up to the door and Jessie's mom answered.
"Jessie! Liam is here!" she yelled. "She will be down in a minute." She told me. I went to the stairs and stood at the railing. I heard footsteps and looked up to the top of the staircase. She was wearing a light purple halter dress that went to her knees, black flats and headband, and holding a black purse. She had light purple eyeshadow on and light pink lipstick on. She looked beautiful. She took three steps, and guess what happened? She fell and tumbled down the stairs and into my arms. I laughed and she started laughing too. I let go of her and she fixed herself back up. Mrs. White came out with a camera and insisted on getting a picture. I thought she only got one picture but she really got like, five. Jessie rushed me out of there and we got in my car.
"That was a close one." She said.
"Yep." I said back.
"Sooo, where are we going?"
"You'll have to wait and see." I smirked. She huffed. I knew I made her mad. We pulled into the restaurant and she gasped. I smiled. It was the fanciest restaurant in town and I had to take her to it. We walked in right at six.
"Reservation for Jones, please? Table for two?" I told the man. He snapped his fingers and out of no where, a waitress comes up. He tells her to seat us.
"Right this way." The waitress said. Just to make sure she knew I was on a date, I took Jessie's hand and she smiled and looked the other way. The waitress looked at our hands and walked faster. We kept up.
"Here is your table." The waitress said with no expression.
"Thanks." I smiled and winked at her. She smiled and walked away.
"I'm your date, right?" Jessie asks me.
"Of course you are, why?" I replied.
"You smiled and winked at the waitress."
"I was playing with her. You're more beautiful than she will ever be." I took her hand. She blushed.
"Thank you." She smiled.
"Sooo, what are you hungry for?"
"I don't know. Maybe the grilled chicken salad. What do you want?"
"I was thinking about the steak and baked potato. It sounds good right now."
"It kinda does." The waitress came back and could not take her eyes off of me. She got our drinks and our food orders. While she walked away, I told Jessie,
"She is so weird, she keeps staring at me." Loud enough for her to hear. We talked about school, food, books, and she tried to guess where we were going after this.
"I'm not telling you until we get there." I told her.
"Why not?" She whined.
"It's a surprise." I smirked. She pouted.
"You pout a lot." I stated.
"You smirk a lot." She retorted.
"You love my smirk."
"Yes I do your right." Then our food came. We ate and and we talked, we talked as we ate. The waitress came around and gave me the check. It was surprisingly cheap for that place. She asked us for dessert and Jessie said she was too stuffed.
We left and I went the way that led us home.
"I thought we were going somewhere else?" Jessie asked.
"We are." I said as we passed her house. About ten minutes from my house, I turned on a dirt road and I parked the car at the end of the road. I got out and went to her side.
"Why are we in the woods? There are animals that can eat us out there." I held out my hand.
"I won't let them eat you. I'll scare them away."
"Don't you need a flashlight?"
"I know how to get to where we are going."
"What if I get lost?"
"Stop asking questions and let's go." She got out and I started walking. She held my hand tight. I saw the opening and started to run.
"I can't run as fast as you can!"
"Try to!"
We got to the clearing and she gasped. On the trees were white lights and the stars lit up the night.
"How did you do this? You were with me all night."
"I have friends." I smirked. Music started to play and she ran over to me, scared.
"What is that?"
"I said I have friends." We started dancing and continued to dance through the next song. The she laid on the grass and looked up at the stars. I did the same.
"If you ever feel lost, look up at the sky and I will always be there." Then I sat up. Jessie did the same. "Here." I gave her a long skinny black box. She opened it and gasped again. It was a diamond necklace with a silver locket on it.
"Open the locket." I said.
She opened it. It said
J & L 4evr
She asked me to put it on for her and I did.
"Read the inside of the box." I told her. It read
Be my girlfriend?
"Yes." She whispered. I leaned over and kissed her beautiful lips. I pulled away.
"I love you." I said
"I love you too." she said.
I kissed her again.
