I'm a lion forced to walk through life with these human shoes.

People say I'm a symbol of strength courage and justice but here I am watching my life pass
BY.
Asking myself the same questions
over and over
WHY?
Why can't I see the
SKY?
Why can't anyone hear me
CRY?
Are they NEARBY?
Or are they all just standing
BY.
I wish I could tell you things get BETTER
but I can't help but feel so
BITTER.
Being held captive in this
ZOO
I can't tell you that I'll make it THROUGH.
Because this zoo is in my
MIND
and I'm tired of saying that I'm just FINE.
Because when the lights turn
OUT
that's when the devil starts to
SHOUT.
I don't know who me is
ANYMORE
I mean here I am crying on the
FLOOR.
What
FOR?
For
WHO?
For
YOU?
For the people who have no
CLUE
what demons I'm fighting
THROUGH
to the same people that tell me to be happy I have everything you know it's
TRUE.
I guess I just have to remain hidden in this ZOO
Maybe one day I'll change my
VIEW
have a
BREAKTHROUGH.
Maybe I'm destined to be a
LION
I'm just longing for my
HORISON.
If I even make it that
FAR
I feel like a reject forced to spend these cold Dark Nights alone
blinded to the STARS.
Bound to this never-ending emptiness Forced to live my life
BELOW.
sometimes I just want to
GO
I mean all I do is
LIE LOW.
and the worst part is no one
KNOWS
that's just how it
GOES.
Maybe I don't get a happily ever
AFTER.
Drounding out my pain with this LAUGHTER
I guess it doesn't
MATTER.
I wish that I could tell you I have the ANSWER
but I'm nothing but I wannabe
ACTOR.
That's why I write these
POEMS
So I can be
OPEN
I'm tired of being
BROKEN.
but sometimes even if it's hard to hear things like this must be
SPOKEN.
