This chapter is going to help you to think about some room staples that you should buy if you love this aesthetic.
I was analysing some 70s rooms and depending on your age your room can be really lively or simple but tasteful.
If you like to keep things girly I suggest decorating similarly to this room.

This reminds me quite a bit of Jackie's room from that 70s show except yellow and more childlike. There are some flower elements to this room you can see it in the bed frame, the bed sheets and the mirror. This can be seen as a subtle reference to the flower power movement.
The next thing is the use of yellow. Of course you could choose a different colour if you wanted but the yellow is quite a happy colour which can remind you of nature, the sun etc.
I think that if you were quite girly this type of room would be really great to take inspiration from.

If you want to go down the more "hippy" route I think that this picture is good inspiration for your room. Obviously you should not be romanticising global issues to fit your aesthetic but you should definitely be aware.
And if you do consider yourself a "hippy" you probably are. Therefore, expressing that throughout your room might be something you'd like to do. As global issues would probably be something you care about. With people visiting your room you're spreading the message you want to do little by little and all the time.
Creating posters, buying posters or other people's photography would be a good idea but also don't make it too morbid either as remember it is your room. Along side that we can see that the furniture is dark and she has a blanket or duvet of some sort with a cool pattern. Maybe bringing out the old blankets your grandparents made you or the charity shop bought blanket would be a good idea for this room.

I wanted to use another picture as it focused mostly on bands but I couldn't get it to come on here so I'm using this picture which is essentially a similar decor. In this photo there are lost of posters/pictures of different things however if you are the person that adores 70s music or films this idea would be good as you could express your love for those things by spreading them all over your walls.
People have been doing this for generations and with different types of pictures based on their aesthetic. If you're a concert junkie then perhaps sticking your concert tickets up there would be a good idea too. Maybe showcase an instrument you play or pictures you take on your camera.
