Chapter 33: A game of war

(Y/n's POV)

You guys walked back into the school and you and Clem were sitting down and Clem spoke up and say.

Clem: I like this place it's safe and secure.

Y/n: As long as it's not like Richmond.

Clem: True point.

Luke comes over and say.

Luke: Hey guys there calling us over for dinner.

Y/n: Sure as long as it ain't human this time.

Luke looks confused and Clem says.

Clem: Last time a family like this gave us food turned out they were cannibals.

Luke: Holy fuck.

After dinner

Louis called you over for a card game which you Luke Clem Kenny Omid and Lee took the offer and Louis Marlon and Violet play and you say.

Y/n: What's the game Louis?

Louis: It's a game called war.

Y/n: I played it once.

Louis: How long ago?

Y/n: Two days before all this happened.

Louis: Might need a refresher don't you.

Y/n: Yeah.

Clem: How do you play?

Louis: simple you draw a card whoever has the highest asks someone a question about them.

You all look at Louis and he says.

Louis: What we want to know you guys better.

Y/n: Fair enough.

Marlon: Louis if you would.

Louis gives everyone a card and you all flip the card and Violet won an she says.

Violet: So Omid, what happened to AJ's parents you guys don't look related.

Omid: There dead but they were good people for the most part.

Marlon: Make sense AJ is a good kid.

Y/n: For the most part.

You flip cards again and Marlon won and he say.

Marlon: So Y/n, Clem what to your left eye?

Clem: Shot by raiders when they attacked the motel inn I was 8 at the time.

Marlon: Jesus. What about you Y/n?

Y/n: I gave a radio up when we were held by a psychopath named Carver and for punishment he ear my eye and I heard all of them to stop but he didn't stop it wasn't until Bonnie and Vincent came out and told him that there was a breach that g stopped.

You took off you eye patch and showed them and say.

Y/n: This is all that's left of my eye only a little bit left and that's it and that's not even the worse entry I faced.

They nodded and you guys flipped the next card and Louis won and he says.

Louis: So Clem ever have a boyfriend?

Clem: Yeah his name is Y/n and we're actually more than that we're engaged.

Louis: So how long were you guys dating?

Clem: sense 11.

He nods and you flip the card again and Marlon won and he says.

Marlon: So Y/n did you ever had to do something that you regretted?

Y/n: Yeah a lot. After my sister died and I escape the New Frontier I became cold harden bitter and I killed without a second thought. I was in a dark place and when I saw Wellington destroyed I thought everyone that I risk my safety so everyone else could life a normal life in this apocalypse and people asked me why did I do this and I said " you speak as if killing was something I cared about? It wasn't."

Marlon Louis and Violet look at you shocked but then nodded and you all flipped the next card and Louis won and he says.

Louis: So Y/n uh nevermind.

Y/n: What is it?

Louis: It's not a fun question.

Y/n: Ask.

Louis: Have you ever killed someone you loved?

Violet/ Marlon: Louis!/Really man!?

Louis: He pushed me to asked it!

You thought for a minute and say.

Y/n: Yes.

They look at you as you continue.

Y/n: I had to kill my mother. We were in Savannah looking for Clem's parents but someone took Clem and Lee and my mother got bit looking for her later they cut it off but my mom passed out before my brother and Ben could cut her arm off to save her from the bite. Then we made it to a balcony and I fell got my leg impaled and Kenny Ben and Lee helped me but Kenny and Ben were lost and me Lee and my mom crossed a Macon sign and it broke in half and we went through the walkers to get Clem back frim the person that took her. When we got out we walked for a bit until Clem saw two walkers and they were her parents and my mother passed out and we got inside a building and she woke up and she walked against a table but when we got to the end of it she fell next to a radiator and I told her to get up but she couldn't she was losing her strength. We both knew this was the end and with the advice she said "Stay the fuck out of cities." We all knew she wouldn't make it and with one final request she said "I want you to shoot me" and after a few moments of hesitation I did.

You were on the verge of tears and you say before breaking down.

Y/n: I think I'm done for tonight.

Marlon: That probably would be for the best.

You nod and you stand up to go to the room that you woke up in and Clem followed you just so she can comfort you  and before you enter the room Marlon came up and he says.

Marlon: Sorry about Louis he can be a dumbass sometimes.

Y/n: understatement of the century I guess.

Marlon: You and Clem come to my office tomorrow ok?

You slowly nodded and Marlon walked away and you and Clem walked into the room as you lay down on the bed Clem says.

Clem: You going to ok?

You shrug your shoulders and say.

Y/n: I'm not really sure.

After a few minutes you fall asleep.
