Lady Gisela POV
Also Idk when this is but probably sometime in legacy (but not after legacy) and no this does not follow the storyline completely just a little fyi (yes I know parts of it correlate with the end of legacy but just pretend it's a slightly different storyline) (also yes ik in the books the kids would be much smarter than this but let's just pretend they're bigger idiots than usual lol)
"Vespera, clean that up." I gesture to the splatter of blood on the training dummy, left untouched after Tam's training. He was proving quite useful. He was willing to cooperate when we so much as mentioned his sister.
Little did he know we had her in our captivity. Locked away from everything and everyone, helpless. She was the girl of many floods no more.
Today is the day I'm going to win.
My lips curl upwards at the thought. Everything was ready. The moonlark and my son and their ignorant friends are going to walk right into my trap. They think they're so clever, always thinking that this time they're going to outsmart me, but they never have and they never will. In the end, they're only children. They simply don't stand a chance.
"Where do we stow the shade boy when the mission is underway?" Vespera asked, snapping me out of my thoughts.
"Stow away?" I laugh coldly. "My dear, he's going to be on the front lines as bait!"
"Couldn't he get away?"
"You really think I haven't prepared for all of this?" I twist my lips into a grin. "You underestimate me, Vespera. I'm more powerful than you think."
Her emotionless eyes narrowed slightly and she stepped away from the now blood-free dummy. "I hope you know what you're doing."
"I assure you, I do." And with that, I turned on my heel, grinning with a cold confidence that could only come from knowing I was going to win. My vision will take it's first steps today. Vespera may think her vision will succeed, but it's too late. She won't matter in the end.

Two hours later, the sensor I placed in the King's Path was breached, meaning the Black Swan kids did exactly as I expected them to. I had left a note telling them to go to the marketplace, and now some were there with Vespera, and some would soon be here with me, exactly as I had planned.
"How do you expect to win?" A surly teenage boy with silver bangs asked, glaring at me with the desperation of someone with something to protect.
Or rather, someone.
"I know I'm going to win, Tam. Do you want to know why?" I took the glare I received as a yes.
"Your little friends will be here soon, and you are going to do exactly as I say, because I may or may not have someone important to you in my custody."
His silver eyes widened, and his face paled as he stumbled back and muttered, "Keefe?"
I laughed. "Not yet, but it's good to know you care about my son, I can use that against you in the future."
His cheeks reddened. "I don't care about him!"
"Keep telling yourself that," I smirked, "but no, the person I have in custody is someone you've cared about for far longer than anyone."
His cheeks paled and his hands trembled slightly. "We had a deal!"
"Well, sometimes deals have to be broken to win. Don't worry, your sister isn't hurt, but that could change if you don't cooperate."
