If there was one thing that (Y/N) adored about being a member of the losers club was the free access she had to the clubhouse and, well, the comfortable hammock that was there. Although there were rules to use it, like the one that said you could only use it for ten minutes, none of them had to actually been followed by the girl.

In a certain day, the whole group decided to hang out at the clubhouse and (Y/N) took the hammock all for herself. The only person who complained about it was Richie, who wanted to lay in there while he read comics, but Beverly just told him to fuck off and let the girl rest for a bit.

Yeah, rest - because (Y/N) didn’t lay there to read something or have a conversation with the others. Most of times she would take small naps while the losers talked to each other, and that was exactly what she was about to do when Richie disturbed her peace.

The girl gave Bev a thumbs up before closing her eyes again, not taking more than a few minutes to fall asleep. She didn’t know how much she had slept - it felt like it wasn’t more than a few seconds - but she was awaken by a hand shaking her gently.

“Hey.” (Y/N) slowly opened her eyes to see her boyfriend, Stan Uris, standing in front of her. He had a shower cap on his head, making her frown at him in confusion. “Take this.” that’s when she saw he was holding another shower cap, offering it to her.

She yawned, eyeing it before looking at him again. “What is this for, Stan?”

Richie snorted from across the room - that’s when she noticed that everyone but Richie and Eddie was wearing one of those. “Some bullshit about not getting spiders on your hair or something.”

Stan looked at him before rolling his eyes. “I’m sorry if I don’t want spiders all over my girlfriend.”

(Y/N) couldn’t help but let a soft smile widen on her lips when she heard those words. (Y/N) hadn’t been with the losers for long - she was rather new in the group, but she did know Stan for a while. They both went to the same synagogue for years and in the last few months they finally started talking to each other.

(Y/N) had never admited it before to her family - specially not her older brother - but she did have a crush on the Rabbi’s son for a long time. And she couldn’t have been happier when he shyly approached her in her brother’s bar mitzvah. After that, it didn’t take much time for her to be introduced to some of the losers - and after a few weeks in the group, Richie spilled that Stan had also a crush on her. Needless to say that Stanley got really mad at Richie at the time, but he forgave him when (Y/N) asked him out on a date.

And now, there they were, actually dating. It was something new for them - it was good, because they both were learning together what it meant to like someone and be with them. Since Stanley was (Y/N)’s first boyfriend, she did feel a bit flustered every time he showed affection toward her or called her “his girlfriend”. That always made her feel warm inside.

(Y/N) held Stan’s wrist to caught his attention, causing him to take his gaze to her, before she leaned towards him to place a kiss on his cheek.

A shy smile appeared on Stan’s face as his cheeks started feeling hotter by the minute - he still had to get used to that too.

“Gross.” Richie muttered under his breath, going back to read his comic.

“You’re just jealous.” (Y/N) said before letting go of his wrist, taking the shower cap off his hand. “Thanks Stan, I’ll take it.” he gave her one last smile before going to sit somewhere.

(Y/N) covered her hair with the shower cap, thankful that her boyfriend was so thoughtful - she really did not want to go back home with her head full of spiders… Or any other insects that could appear there.

The girl closed her eyes once again, taking a deep breath, ready to fall asleep again. She could hear the others talking - mostly about what they would do once they were out of Derry. (Y/N) smiled, thinking about it. She wanted to go to so many places; after being stuck in that small town all her life, she wanted to see everything that the world could offer her. She hoped Stan would want to go with her too.

“Do you guys think we’ll still be friends… When we’re older?” she heard Stan’s voice, which was enough to caught her attention and make her open her eyes once again.

“Why wouldn’t we be?” she could see that everyone seemed as confused as her.

“Do any of your parents still hang out with their friends from middle school? I mean, things might be different then.” his eyes met hers and she saw something that she couldn’t recognize in them - was it fear? Insecurity? “We all might be different.”

“We’ll always still be friends. I don’t-I don’t think that just guh-guh-goes away because we get older.” Bill tried to assure him.

“Yeah, Stan, come on.” Bev said, leaning on one of the pillars. “You don’t have to be so sad.” Stanley nodded at her words but that didn’t seem to have helped him that much.

“Hey.” she called out for Stan, who quickly looked at her. She could see that he was apprehensive about something - she did not know why he would come up with such a dark subject like that but, hell, he was her boyfriend and she wanted to bring him a bit of comfort. So she moved a little in the hammock, making room for him. “Come here.”

Stan got up from his place, slowly walking up to her. They both were well aware that all the losers were paying a bit of attention on what was going on between them - they weren’t used to have a couple in their group of friends, so it was always a bit surreal to see Stan and (Y/N) displaying affection in front of them. They all watched when Stan laid down next to her, wrapping his arm around her shoulders to pull her closer - after all, the hammock wasn’t that big. But the losers soon lost interest when the couple remained quiet, just enjoying the other’s company.

“I’m sorry that I’m being all…”

“Emotional?” she raised one of her eyebrows to him as he sheepishly smiled at her. (Y/N) shook her head, taking one of her hands to his, holding it gently. “You don’t have to worry about that.”

“About being emotional around you?”

“Well, that too.” she wanted him to feel like he could open up to her, knowing that it wasn’t bed to show emotions around people. “But I was talking about us… When we get older.”

Stan seemed to get a bit tense by her words and she could tell that he had a lot on his mind. “Do you think…” he stopped himself, turning his head toward her, their eyes meeting. “That we will still be together?”

“I hope so.” she answered honestly - he was right, things could change, but she hoped they wouldn’t, at least not for them. She noticed that her words didn’t comfort him, so she proceeded to squeeze his hand. “Don’t worry about that.“ she used her thumb to caress the back of his hand. "Are you happy right now?”

Stan looked into her eyes - he might not know many things about loving someone, but he was certain that he did like (Y/N) and that being with her made him feel good. “Couldn’t be happier.”

She chuckled, smiling at him. “Then that’s what really matters.” she broke the eye contact, her eyes wandering on his face, as if she was trying to memorize every detail of it. “When we are older, that’s how I will remember you - shower cap and all.”

Stan grimaced. “Does the shower cap have to be included?”

(Y/N) let out a laugh. “Yeah. I don’t want spiders all over my boyfriend either.”

It was Stan’s turn to feel himself getting warm inside, liking it how it felt to hear her calling him her significant other. In all honesty, Stan liked how things were, just like that - but the idea of a future scared him, not knowing what was going to happen and what could change until there.

He was happy at that moment, however, exactly as he had told his girlfriend - and that was what mattered. If he couldn’t know what he would have the next day, he was going to enjoy what he had at the moment - so he brought (Y/N) even closer to him, feeling calmer with her in his arms.
