I bet you can't think of something as weird as how Mr. Lovett's meat-pie shop had turned from a small shop in the middle of London, not having any customers at all, to a really successful shop in one night. People buying and enjoying her pies. A lot of them kept asking her which was the recipe but she kept saying that it's a secret. One even asked her what kind of meat she was using.
Mrs. L- Mostly pork dear...
Little did they know, that meat had nothing in common with pork, or any kind of meat in the world.
Laura arrived half an hour after the customers started coming into the shop. She was wearing a blue dress, with white shoes and gloves. When Toby saw her coming he immediately put the pies down, smelled his breath and raised his chin up.
Toby- Why the gloves?
Laura- Father's idea... please don't ask. Is Mrs. Lovett here?
Laura jumped as she heard a voice from right behind her.
Mrs. L- Oh you're so pretty dear! You called me?
Laura- When will the shop be closed?
Mrs. L- Mhmm... in half an hour or so.. Why?
Laura- I want to see Mr. Todd.
Mrs. L- I wouldn't interrupt him, if I were you. He's not very well.
Laura- It's important and I'm going... can I try one of your new pies while I'm waiting?
Toby showed her a table in the back of the shop so it wouldn't he as loud. They gave her a pie and a glass of water. Laura reached into her pocket to give them a tip.
Mrs. L- No need to pay. It's for free for you, she whispered.
Laura- Thank you so much!
She bit a little bit of her pie.
Laura- It's really nice, thank you...
Toby- Are you alright? You don't seem well.
Laura- I just have a headache, don't worry.
Toby- Do you want me to do something for you?
Laura- I don't need something too specific, just privacy..
Toby stood there, he didn't understand anything she was trying to say.
Laura- I meant, go...
Toby- Oh... ok. Well.. I'll be there if you need anything. He walked away before looking at her for one last time.
"Finally, that kid is obsessed with me" she thought to herself. She got up and crouched out of the shop while holding something on her hand. Something that she found when she bit into her pie. It was a toenail. She, herself, didn't know how she didn't throw up right at that moment.
When she got out of the shop and saw Mrs. Lovett turning around to go get more pies for the people sitting on the tables outside, she ran up the stairs leading to the barber shop.
She just opened the door, she didn't care at all. You don't need much thought to understand what was going on. Did Toby know?
Sweeney Todd turned around to see her standing at the doorway with a closed fist.
Mr. T- What do you want, he whispered. He was cleaning one of his razors. "Probably from the blood" Laura thought.
Laura- I would normally come to ask you again about the pictures-
Mr T- It's none of your business, he interrupted her.
Laura- You can keep your secrets. You can hide the truth about my family if you want. -she paused while taking the toenail out of her pocket- But I don't want you to turn the  pie shop downstairs into a cannibal hangout.
She showed him the nail and started walking towards him really slowly.
Laura- You can kill me or you can trust me. I'm wasn't planning on saying it to anyone. Just keep Toby out of this, he's a good kid.
Sweeney turned around and looked at the big window looking to the sky.
Laura- You kill people...
Mr. T-  I killed for you, he whispered. You could barely make out his words.
Laura- I'm sorry, what was that?
Mr. T- Nothing, get out.
Laura left a tiny picture on the counter before closing the door behind her. Sweeney went up to the counter and grabbed the picture. The same picture Laura showed them when she came to the shop earlier that morning.
