♪ 02. Just another day ♪

[ 3 Years Later ]

It isn't an easy task for Erwin to raise his daughter alone. But, he had survived these 3 years along with his father's, his in-laws', and his friends' help. Without knowing it, (Y/n) had grown into a 3-year-old girl. Her blonde hair has grown, reaching her shoulder and her big blue eyes only shine brighter with more curiosity.

However, she, unfortunately, inherited her mother's weak body. Erwin found out about it when all of sudden (Y/n) had a high fever when she was two. It was a gloomy day for Erwin to see his daughter in pain while calling for her daddy in a hoarse voice. However, she is doing pretty well for now.

"Let's go meet grandpapa, daddy!" The three years old exclaimed as she jumped on the floor repeatedly. She has been calling her grandfather with papa.

"Be patient, Angel." Erwin chuckled as he puts a hat on his eager daughter. "You really like seeing him, don't you?"

"Hmm! Papa tells (Y/n) stories!" (Y/n) nodded her head in joy. Erwin's father was a history professor, now he may be retired but he still keeps on telling history to his precious granddaughter. (Y/n) loves to listen to his historical facts and stories. That curious side of her definitely comes from Erwin.

"Alright, let's go there." Erwin held his hand out and his daughter quickly took it. They went out of their mansion and get into their car, heading to (Y/n)'s grandfather.

(Y/n) was humming to nursery rhymes along the way, making Erwin chuckled to himself at how adorable her daughter is being. If he wasn't driving, he wants to just pinch her daughter's cheeks softly or record a video of her. Soon after that, they had arrived at their destination and get out of the car. Erwin helped  (Y/n) opened the door and unbuckled her safety belt.

The little toddler ran to the door first, knocking on the door excitedly while Erwin only shook his head then rang the bell for her. (Y/n) glanced at her dad and muttered a thank you then waited for her grandpa to open the door for them patiently.

"My precious granddaughter!"

"Heheee, grandpapa!" (Y/n) hugged her grandfather as soon as he opened the door for her and her father to come in.

"Well, father, please take care of (Y/n) for me. I won't be long today." Erwin said to his father as he pats (Y/n)'s head. "Be a good girl, okay?"

"It's fine, son. (Y/n) is a clever and sweet child. Go on now." Erwin's father replied. Erwin gave his daughter one last smile and he was going back to his car, but then (Y/n) ran up to him, stopped him, and hugged his legs.

"I love you, daddy! Be back soon!" (Y/n) mumbled with a pout before she lets Erwin's legs go and turned her pout into a cheery smile.  "Be safe!"

Erwin couldn't help but smile then hugged his precious daughter before he went to work. When he arrived at his office, lots of people started bowing to him out of respect. Erwin is the owner of the new but rapidly growing company after all. Soon after, his friend who also works for his company at the research lab approached him.

"Erwin~! Oh, no little (Y/n) today?" Hange, the head scientist of the research lab of new products seemed to be bummed out at the sign of no (Y/n) at her sight.

"Yes, she is with her grandfather today. How's the new research going?" Erwin asked the scientist.

"Ohhh! Hohoho! It's going pretty well! You should come by to the lab later." Hange grinned at Erwin.

Smith Corporation is a relatively new company owned by Erwin Smith. He started everything before (Y/n) was born, along with his wife. It was a small business before but thanks to Erwin's intelligence, charisma, and luck added by his late wife's wisdom and unconditional love and support, it grows into a big company.

Its main focus was electronics at first, but one day (Y/n) told Erwin that she dreamed of eating a candy that can change flavors and it was (favorite animal) shaped. So, Erwin shared his daughter's adorable tale with Hange and his senior executive vice president, Levi, about it. One thing leads to another and they decided to expand their business by opening confections and toys line. It has a big risk since confections have nothing to do with electronics, but, Erwin is confident in it. When he puts his mind to something, he will make everything a success. Maybe he will try to open a resort or animation studio next? Who knows.

Now, Hange is doing research on candies and others. Usually, she and her team would be doing a little more dangerous things in their lab. But, a little difference won't hurt her and she's doing it for (Y/n)!

"Oi, enough chit-chatting. He needs to attend the meeting." Levi showed up with a frown on his face.

"Right, see you both later then!" Hange waved before she hurried back to her lab's direction while Erwin and Levi are going to another floor with the elevator for their important meeting.

Around several hours later, Erwin had finished his responsibilities as the head of the company. He then got into his car and went to pick (Y/n) up from his father's house. When he got there, his father informed him that (Y/n) had fallen asleep on the couch.

Erwin had to carry his beloved daughter to the car but he doesn't mind it, rather, he enjoyed it because he knows she'll grow up in no time and then he won't be able to do this anymore in the future. That's why he wants to cherish every single moment, even the little things while he still can.

This is just another normal day, for Erwin Smith and his daughter.
