Chapter 4: Wolves

John woke Alex and the others as fast as he could, as the howling got louder and louder. The 7 peered out of their cave and looked around. 5 slender, muscular bodies in the distance, howling to each other. They were slowly stalking towards the group. John and the others decided to get out of the open. They tried to board up the mouth of their cave with as many rocks as possible. It wasn't a very wide mouth, so they were able to get it mostly covered. They ran to the part of the cave they hadn't been to yet, and hid at the back. They heard the wolves try and break down their wall, they weren't too successful, but even then the group was dead silent for hours after the scratching stopped. John's anxiety was through the roof. He had his face buried in Alex's shoulder, shaking and trying his hardest not to whimper or cry. After the wolves were for sure gone, everything John was holding up inside of him broke out all at the same time. Alex had his strong arms wrapped around John as he cried. The others had walked up to the front of the cave and left them alone for a bit. John was shaking violently as Alex sung a familiar tune to try and calm John down.

John stopped shaking so hard and closed his eyes. It was the middle of the night by now, he was exhausted. Sleep crashed over him like waves and he sighed. He felt a soft kiss on his forehead and smiled a bit. "I love you John." Alex whispered, and carried him to the front of the cave.
