Will this cold hearted God be able to love?

Chapter - 8

The women of Qing Qiu were having tea. They were talking about their lives like Ye Hua's side consort, Su Jin, was banished from Heaven for eternity. When  Bai Qian asked her niece if she liked anyone in the Realms, Feng Jiu quickly changed the topic and asked about her cousin.

"Where is A-li?"

"He is with Cheng Yu."

"I have not seen them since a long time... I should go and meet them."

Bai Qian took a notice on her behaviour as she saw her gloomy expression when she asked Feng Jiu if she liked anyone, she quickly changed the subject. She was now sure something must be hurting Xiao Jiu. She then let her go to meet A-li as he was also missing her.

"A-li has been missing you. He is at imperial garden with Cheng Yu. Go and be in ceremony on time."

"Thank you, Aunt. I won't be late."

Feng Jiu was on her way to imperial garden and came across Tai Chen Palace's entrance gate and halted. She looked and saw no changes around. It was as quite like before. She remembered all the good memories she had with Dijun as well as the sad ones when Dijun had abandoned her.

She imagined if she had not left the Palace, she would have hurt Ji Heng out of jealousy then Dijun would probably had her thrown out of the Palace. She thought she did the right thing by leaving him but paid a huge price by falling in love with a person who can never be hers.

Feng Jiu then thought what she was doing here and came back to reality. She turned and continued walking towards the imperial garden while exclaiming in a low voice, "Oh my! I'm daydreaming in broad daylight for minutes now and A-li and Cheng Yu would have been waiting for me. I should hurry!".

Meanwhile at Imperial Garden...

Cheng Yu and A-li were waiting for Feng Jiu in the imperial garden when they were informed by Nai-Nai.

Cheng Yu was a bit surprised when she heard earlier Feng Jiu will be attending the ceremony. A-li was beyond excited about meeting his cousin sister after a long time. A-li missed his sister's cooking while Cheng Yu was still angry when she went to Qing Qiu with her boyfriend, Lian Song and MiGu had denied them from meeting her, saying the Queen does not want to meet or entertain people from Celestial Heaven.

"There she is.", Cheng Yu saw her former best friend, Feng Jiu, standing in a corner and looking for them in the crowd. "Feng Jiu jiejie.. Feng Jiu jiejie", A-li waved towards Feng Jiu so she could find them easily.

Feng Jiu heard her cousin calling out her name. She looked around and saw A-li waving at her and beside him was Cheng Yu. She noticed Cheng Yu had same expression like her aunt did when she saw her after ages.

"Looks like she is still angry at me.", Feng Jiu sighed and soon she was hugged by A-li.

"Feng Jiu jiejie, how have you been? I missed you so much.", A-li whined.

"Your jiejie has been really busy these years and I'm sure she will be busy again after this ceremony is over.", Feng Jiu understood what Cheng Yu had actually meant to say.

She was planning on leaving immediately after the ceremony but looks like she has to make up for the distance she had created among them.

"A-li, I'm doing great and I missed you all. I will be here for a month. I have to catch up on so many things.", Feng Jiu hugged A-li back and took a glance at Cheng Yu, hoping she would understand that she wanted to mend their friendship.

Few hours passed by. A-li and Feng Jiu gossiped and ate snacks while waiting for the ceremony to begin. Cheng Yu had left them earlier when she saw her man being chased around by young Maidens. Later Nai Nai came to inform them that the ceremony was about to begin.

While entering the hall her name was announced and saw everyone looking at her. Every person present in the hall were amazed by her beauty. They had never seen her in real before and they had only heard about her achievements. Not to mention she attained the status of a High Goddess at such a young age.

Feng Jiu was not used to such ceremonies. She had never liked to be the center of attention. She poised herself and joined A-li.

The ceremony started. Feng Jiu sipped her tea and looked around, seeing some similar faces. She saw one empty seat at the top thinking who dared to decline such important invitation. She also noticed the absence of former Emperor, Dong Hua.

She was hoping to see Dong Hua today knowing she won't be able to see him again. She wanted to see how Dong Hua was doing.

Suddenly, a name was announced.

"Former Emperor, Dong Hua Dijun, is here."

Everyone stood and bowed.

Feng Jiu peeked a little while bowing and saw him dressed in white and was gracefully walking towards the empty seat and paid no attention to others.

Feng Jiu found a common trait which she and Dong Hua shared. They both don't like attention.

Dong Hua then sat in a lounging position in his seat. He paid no attention to what was going around him and the coronation continued.

Note : I had to remove so many conversations. From quarrelling between Lian Song and Cheng Yu's to A-li's and Feng Jiu. It was getting so lengthy and was so much frustrating to make everything perfect. So, I removed them and kept the ones which were necessary. Hence, the delay. It was supposed to be published yesterday but here we are.
