Demi's POV:

"There was really nothing we could do. We tried to revive her but nothing worked. At the minute she is in a coma. She also has two broken ribs, her right arm is broken and she has major damage to her tail bone, it could have left her paralysed but luckily it won't. I don think this coma will last for the longest of times but I'm so very sorry, I really am"

The words passed through one ear and out of the other. I can't take in anything that has just been said to me. My daughter is in a coma, a fucking coma. People wake up from comas barely remembering their family and friends, what if that happens to Alex. I couldn't live with myself.

"W-who d-- Did the police find who c-caused t-his?" I let out, my voice breaking at every word.
He placed his hand on my shoulder. "The police are on it, they have the vehicles tyre tracks on some sort of system and will have the results back to us in a few hours time. Would you like go in and see her?"

I nodded my head and Cat looked at me with reassurance in her eyes. I was led into the room and couldn't see Alex anywhere only to see that there was one bed sheltered by a only a curtain, my heart sank. He led us into the curtain and there she was was. Lying there, lifeless. There was bruises covering her from head to toe, how could this happen?
"I will leave you both to it and I will come back with the police results if you're still here in a few hours." Dr. Phillips said.
I nodded and took a seat and Cat took the other. I held Alex's hand and I've never felt anything closer to ice, my hands froze just touching them. This isnt right. I brought her hand up to my lips and then spoke to her, I must be going crazy. "Im so sorry baby girl, I really, truly am. This is all my fault, I cant believe I let this happen to you." I sobbed.
"This isnt your fault Dem." I heard Cat say as she rubbed my shoulder. I rested my head on Alex's chest and fell asleep to the sound of her precious heart beat.

Cats POV:

I hated this. Seeing Demi in so much pain tore my heart apart. Shes been asleep for a good 2 hours now. She blames herself and its upsetting. The only sound that has entered my ear drums is the sound of the beeping of the heart monitor and Demi's light snooring. The door swung open and I swear I almost collapsed after not hearing noise for hours. "The police have the results" He gulped and as did I. I give Demi a little shake and her head shot up with panic on her face. "The police have the results Demi" I told her. She furrowed her eyebrows and looked sad. After several seconds of watching her in deep thought she looked back up at the doctor. "I guess its time to know." She said.

Demi's POV:

I am shitting myself for the results. I don't really know if I want to come to terms with who did this to my daughter. Accident or no accident I will not forgive.
"okay. are you sure you're ready Ms. Lovato?" I nodded "but call me Demi"
He nodded and inhaled. "Okay well, the police looked deep into this whole situation and we figured the car belongs to a woman called Jess Hernandez, she's in her early 30's and has a fiancé. She has no criminal records or has never been spoken to by the police before so I guess you would class it as an accident. the poli-" I cut him off, "Jess Hernandez did you say?" I said whilst trying to keep my calm. My whole body began to tremble. "Yes, that's what her name is, why.. is something wrong?" He furrowed his brows and frowned.

"Jess Hernandez is Alex's Mom."

Cat and Dr.Phillips looked completely taken aback. There is no way this can be classed as an accident. Alex was put into the care home because Jess was an alcoholic and was an abusive mother. She wasn't stable enough to be a mother and she was forced to give Alex up. Its coming together, Jess is jealous and wants revenge.

"This cant be true can it?" Cat questioned angrily whilst moving her eyes between me and Dr. Phillips.
"I haven't heard from the police about birth certificates or history of Jess' past but it could well be true" Dr. Phillips agreed. "The accident happened on the back roads so there's no way she would have just been driving there, she must have been following your daughter for a long while." he continued.

"She was forced to give up Alex and put her into a care home, this isnt an accident. She needs to go to court, immediately. That bitch needs to be fucking locked up!" I screamed unable to control my anger and bolted from my chair, it fell to the floor and I headed towards the door.

'beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep'

I froze. There's only one thing that could be. I looked over at Dr.Phillips who was repeatedly pressing the panic button and calling for backup.
In an instant Cat was dragged out of the room and I was being pulled by some doctors. "No!" I yelled, my voice box pulsing as I screamed the same word over and over. I sunk myself to the floor, sobs escaping my lips. "My baby, not my fucking baby" I was picked up and thrown over somebody's shoulder. My legs kicking against their body trying to cling onto every wall to on the way out of the room. "somebody help!" I yelled, "help my baby!"

I was thrown by the man into a separate room on my own and curled myself into a ball and trembled on the cold floor. I physcially cannot breathe. I panted trying to catch my breathe but it was pointless.

All I can feel is pain.
