- final chapter my loves -

Faustus walked into the mortuary with upmost importance, as always, but something felt different. As he entered the room where his sleepy wife lay, he slumped into the nearest chair with a sigh. There was nothing the man had ever wanted more than to have Zelda carry his child, though he feared the worst after catching the witch with someone so dear to him. He was disappointed, but after what he did, he'd decided it was only fair to let her have some sort of vengeance. Zelda soon awoke, sensing the presence of a familiar man.
"Faustus?.."
she whispered quietly, still tired from all of the previous panic. Her delicate cheeks were stained with tears, so when Faustus observed his wife's perfect face, he was truly saddened.
"Zelda, I'm so sorry."
The words barely left his mouth, he was drowning in guilt and had nothing to say to her.
She sat up and gently patted the empty half of the bed next to her. He hesitantly trailed over and sat beside his love. He rested his head on her shoulder and a gentle hand ran through his hair.
"What if it's his?" He murmured worriedly.
"I don't know Faustus. I've never been in this position before." She replied. In his bones, he could feel how afraid she was. He sat up and she looked at him with apologetic eyes. He held her face in his hand.
"You know I'll always love you. I will raise this child as my own, even if it isn't."
Faustus put his free hand on her petite stomach and smiled. She started to tear up and scoffed at him.
"Look what you've done now. Idiot."
He laughed and whispered quietly to her.
"Bitch."
She smiled and wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him in to a warm, relieving kiss. She pulled away quickly and put her fingers over her lips.
"I forgot. I can't kiss you because then I'm not pure for the wedding."
All he could say back was "forget about that." He pulled her in to the most meaningful kiss he'd ever given. Zelda understood now. It was always Faustus. She finally knew, she'd found the one. This was love. True love. Praise Satan.
