You were the first person Malia connected with after becoming human again. You two hit it off immediately, and Malia became accustomed to the routine you created together.
You spent a lot of time with Scott and Stiles helping her adjust to her new life. Somewhere in the midst of algebra and 'how to be a werecoyote 101', feelings developed.
You became a safe space for her, one she was territorial over. So, when you two split up, she didn't know what to do with herself. She was quick to attend the bonfire and drown her heartache in a red solo cup of cheap beer.
However, with the deadpool out, none of you were safe. Scott came to Malia immediately after hearing the news you were attacked.
"She doesn't need me," Malia protested, "She made that very clear."
"Malia," Scott spoke softly, "She loves you. You know she does. I get it, it was a messy breakup, but if anyone should rescue Y/N, you know it should be you."
Malia ignored the tears brimming in her eyes and nodded, setting her beer down and following Scott to Stiles' jeep.
