CHAPTER 4:
"You look terrible." Dante announced after I opened the front door. His hand reached out, cupping my left cheek and bringing my face closer to his for examination. "Your skin is really dry and your dark circles are huge."
"Thank you asshole." I snapped, smacking his hand away. "For your information I'm sick."
"Sick with what?"
"Sick of you." I rephrased, ignoring his amused chuckle as he pushed past me and entered the house.
"Where's big J? Did you tell him I was coming to say hi?"
"Duh. Something came up at the office, but he should be back in a few hours."
"Oh." He frowned, his face twisting in distress.
"Is that a problem? do you have somewhere more important to be?" I questioned, feeling that same nauseous feeling enter my stomach. "You can go if you want. I'll tell my dad you had better things to do."
"Come on Seb, don't be like that." He urged, throwing his arm over my shoulders and pulling me toward him. He kissed my forehead softly, before ruffling my hair. "I'm here to see you too."
"I don't know why."
"Because you're my best friend maybe?"
I hummed, ignoring his comment and the head ache that was brewing. "Where's Scott?" I finally asked, trying to break the silence.
"He's busy. He volunteers at a home for kids who got kicked out of their houses for being gay." He answered, his arms still around me, keeping me pressed to his hard chest. "If you want, when he's done we can all go hang out somewhere."
"I'd rather not get too attached to it."
"What do you mean?"
"I don't know." I shrugged him off, taking a large step back from him. I guess I had figured this whole situation was temporary. Once Dante fucked him, what use did he have to keep the kid around. "I don't wanna tag along on your date. It seems pretty pathetic."
"It's not a date. We'd all be hanging out." He told me. "Scotty really wants to get to know you."
"Why?"
"You're my best friend Seb. It's kind of protocol."
"But who cares?" I countered, walking toward my room in an attempt to escape this conversation. "I mean, it's not like it'll change anything whether or not I'm his friend. You know me Dante. I'm not the friendly type. I wouldn't want to offend your..." I trailed off. Was it appropriate to call him his fuck buddy if they weren't fucking? Maybe his unplowed hole?
"You won't offend him. Contrary to popular belief, you're actually the coolest person ever. You guys will like each other and the sooner you do the less awkward all this can be."
"Why is it awkward?"
"You don't think it's awkward between you two?"
"Well considering I never think about him aside from wondering whether or not you've fucked him yet.... No I don't think it's awkward. There would have to be a relationship there for it to be awkward but there isn't one."
"Yes there is." Dante objected. "He's my boyfriend Sebastian. And you're my best friend. You guys are the two most important people in my life now. You guys have to talk."
Two most important? Okay. I've known the guy for years, took his fucking virginity, but somehow I've tied with the twink in importance? "Fine." I groaned. "I'll hang out with him. Happy?"
