Soulmate

Chapter three•

Lucas took my arm and walked me out the door, he helped me get into the car as well. During the whole ride there Lucas kept staring at me, almost as if he liked me. but I know he doesn't, he would have said so by now. I've known him since kindergarten. Why would he like me anyway? I'm different. I had that thought pounding in my head till we got there, Lucas help me out of the car and into the Hampton's home. We were greeted at the door by one of their Butler's he said his name was Charles. I don't really like that name. Anyway, he walked us down a hall to this big beautiful room. it was the ballroom. Everybody looked elegant in that room.every body. Then Mr. Hampton came on the stage. "Ladies and gentlemen I welcome you here tonight to my beautiful home. We are all here for one special event. Our wonderful children the age of 15 leaving to go find their soulmate. I hope you all have fun this evening. Thank you." He smiled brightly and walked off the stage. The music started playing, A beautiful orchestra, and this amazing violinist. Lucas grabbed my hand and asked for a dance. I nodded and walked with him to the dance floor. We started dancing slowly with my head on his shoulder swaying back and forth. It felt like time stopped. I knew Lucas would always have a certain spot in my heart. When the song ended, I snapped back into reality. And then it hit me. I'm leaving my family for a year tomorrow. I won't get to see them ever. Just write and call them. I looked over at the table we were seated at. I saw mom and dad laughing. Jamie and Parker playing a hand game I taught them years ago. How could I leave such a wonderful life? Then I paused. 'Id be leaving to start a new wonderful life' I thought to myself. I walked over to the table, I left Lucas on the dance floor. Oh well, I need to spend time with my family. I sat down next to Jamie and tapped her shoulder "hey let me see if I still got what it takes to beat your butt at this hand game" I said with a smirk, she laughed slightly and said " we'll see about that Azae-bae" my nickname since I came into this world. I'm going to miss her say that. We played a few rounds of that hand game "Ha I totally beat you!! Looks like I still got my skills." then our food came. everybody sat down and ate their food. After that everybody danced one more time, even mom and dad. Then their wedding song came on and it was the last song of the night. When that was over, everybody was leaving, it was eleven o'clock at night. We all got into the car, I fell asleep, then when we got home I was woken up and I walked into the door and into my room. I got dressed for bed and took my makeup off. Then I laid in bed, breathing the scent of my room in, I'm going to miss Michigan.
