Soulmate

Chapter one•

I lay on the ground at the park with the colorful leaves in my hair and slight chills of October dancing around us. "Hey Lucas...what if I never find my soulmate?" "Oh stop it Azae. Today is our last day in Michigan, then we go around the world starting with all the states in the U.S. till we find our soulmate, and you'll find yours. I'm scared I won't find mine."
Lucas was the only person that actually liked me. Everyone said I was 'different' or 'non-human." Lucas said I was very 'unique' and I 'grabbed his attention' but I know I'm different.

I touched my necklace to see if it was warm. It wasn't. I felt like Lucas was my soulmate but. Our necklace we've had since we were born tells us who our soulmate is. When you are near your soul mate. It gets warm, when you are far away, it gets cold. And since it gets freezing cold when I'm with Lucas. He's not my soulmate. "Do you remember when we went to Tennessee for a vacation?" "Yeah, I do. Why Azae?"
"Well my necklace got warmer while we were down at Nashville, do you think maybe my soulmate is there? What if he's leaving too?" See we can either decide. Stay and wait to find out soulmate, or go and look for them. I'm leaving to look for mine. "Well hopefully your soulmate is lazy." Then Lucas gives me a cheesy grin and starts laughing, I join in. Lucas gets up off the ground and I put my hand out and he grabs it, picking me up. "Well, it's almost five o'clock. I should start heading home, want me to walk you home Miss. Azalea?" "Well of course you can Mr. Alexander." He gave me a disgusted look. "Please don't ever say my first name again. I told you, call me by my middle name. You know I hate my first name." I just smiled and gave a teasing wink "okay..sorry Mr. Lucas Alexander Wilson." He just rolled his eyes and grabbed my hand. We always hold hands, it's just what we do.

After walking a few blocks we reached my house. It's pretty big, Lucas says its like a mansion. I don't really agree but it's his opinion not mine. Lucas walked me up the steps to the door. "Bye Azae, I text you later. Oh by the way, are you going to the Hampton's party?" I nodded my head. Of course I was going. Everyone was going to be there. It was the last night for the 15 year olds. My whole family was going to be there. I opened to door and watched Lucas walk off. He's going to be an amazing soulmate.
