Apollo sat on his bed, not ready to deal with his mother and Trucy arguing about breakfast in the kitchen. He didn't get up until he got a text from his friend Ema. "Hey, you up yet? I need someone to rant to and Lana's busy. :[" Apollo sighed and got out of bed to brush his teeth. It'd be weird trying to brush his teeth and make an occasional comment on Ema's rants, he knows that from experience. Sadly, he won't be getting his chords of steel practice today.

He eventually texted back, "Yeah I am. What is it this time?" As soon as he responded, the phone started buzzing with an incoming call from Ema.

"Finally you're awake! Look, do you have any like lesbian friends I could hang out with or something today? That glimmerous fop I told you about is finally back from Germany and I really don't want to put up with any of his dumb flirting for too long. I'd still hang out with you, but you're not really good at pushing people out of conversations." Apollo half paid attention to her rant while he got dressed and gelled up his hair in the bathroom. He made sure to care for the tips better after what had happened yesterday. Note to self: Fluffy ended spikes are not attractive.

"Yeah, I do. Why don't you just snackoo the fop though? Most people don't like being pelted with snackoos." Apollo had asked, adjusting the bracelet on his wrist while returning to his room.

Ema laughed for a few seconds before answering. "Well just like you, the fop's resistant to snackoo attacks."

Apollo interrupted immediately, "Do not compare me to that guy! I don't know him, but I know enough from what you told me that that's an insult."

"Yeah, yeah. Don't worry about it, though. His hair is only half as spiky."

"Ema!" Just then, Trucy walked in.

"Ooh! Polly are you talking to your girlfriend again?" Apollo disappointedly rubbed his face in annoyance.

"Trucy, how many times do I have to tell you Ema isn't my girlfriend?" A laughing fit could be heard from the other side of the phone. "Ema! Stop laughing!"

Trucy smiled and did her usually bounce as she replied. "As many times as it takes for you to admit you're gay, silly! Anyway, mom is done making pancakes. You better hurry before I eat them all!" She laughed and disappeared out of the room like she was some sort of professional magician.

"H-hey! I'm not-! I've gotta go, Ema. I'll see you after school," Apollo said, and hung up the phone. He chased Trucy out to the kitchen only to catch her spewing lies to their mother.

Thalassa sat there laughing at her daughter's outrageous story of Apollo's undying love for some random guy at school and how he couldn't be with him because he was stuck with Ema. "Trucy, that sounds like a lovely tale, but I'd think your brother would disagree with you. You know how much love scares him. Ah, Apollo, you're just in time for breakfast. I hope eggs are okay. We didn't have any pancake batter left." Apollo thanked his mom before sitting down to eat.

"Polly, was talking to his fake girlfriend again when I walked in," Trucy said through mouthfuls of food.

"Chew your food please, Truce. What did Ms. Skye need today, sweetheart?" his mother asked him.

Apollo looked up from his food at her, suddenly remembering he never fully answered Ema's question. "Some guy is back after being in Germany to study for a few years. Ema doesn't seem like him very much, and asked me if I knew anyone that could get him to leave her alone. I forgot to actually answer her on that, hold up." Apollo took out his phone and sent Ema an actual reply, "Athena Cykes. Enthusiastic psychology kid with the talking necklace." All he got in return from the snackoo woman was a "k."
