Confused Piano Noises

The last class before lunch break just ended and Klavier had no idea what he was doing. Sure he could go join somebody in the cafeteria, but he was also tempted to talk to his teacher about more law stuff. Sadly, Professor Courte was busy with a few other students who were concerned about something in the last assignment.

The last assignment wasn't even that hard. It was just a review of a very recent murder case. Maybe he was a bit biased seeing as Kristoph went to the actual trial and told him all about it when he got back. It still wasn't that hard ignoring that fact. Unlike most other murder cases in Japanifornia, it was actually pretty straight forward.

Looking back at the teacher, it looked as if she was just as confused as Klavier was with people's struggles with the last assignment. They even went over most of it together in class today. Thinking back to it, it might've been the question about what was special about the murder weapon since nothing else around that part of the trial was asked about on the worksheet.

It was still strange enough that it should've been remembered if his classmates actually looked into the case. It's not everyday a handcrafted clock in the shape of the Thinker is used as a murder weapon. Another uncommon thing with that case is how young the defense team was. One recently established a law firm and the other was a fellow college student of theirs. Honestly it was just strange enough that a college student would be allowed and capable of running a law firm, but Mia Fey was a strange case as always.

Klavier didn't know much about her seeing as he was aiming more to be a prosecutor, but he's heard quite a few things about the woman. Most things he heard from Kristoph or Professor Courte or sometimes one of the seniors in his law class. He shook his head. Somebody was probably waiting for him at the cafeteria at this point anyway.

He had begun walking out of the room when Professor Courte stopped him. "Gavin?"

   "Yes, Frau Courte?"

"Could you give this to Mr. Justice? I believe he'll be needing this for my class later today." She handed him a nearly finished, but not quite done worksheet.

Klavier nodded. "Of course. Why exactly are you asking me to bring it to him? I didn't realize you knew we knew each other."

"He mentioned you briefly on Friday, and your brother brought it up when I talked to him earlier. I also noticed a picture of you two in the school paper."

That caught him off guard. "A picture of us? I don't remember any pictures taken, Professor."

She brought a hand to her chin. "I suspected as much. Neither of you had seemed to be the slightest bit aware of it in the picture. It was definitely an oddball to see in the weekly student photos section. Most others were at least facing the camera. I'll ask the teacher in charge of the photography club about it," Courte said before walking back to her desk.

That was strange. Klavier had only been back for a week and there's already pictures. He'd have to tell Apollo about it. On his way actually out he passed the same girl from that morning. She didn't seem like the type to be interested in law at all, so he's not sure why she was in the law classes section.

He entered the nearly full cafeteria, scanning to find anyone familiar. In the same instance he noticed both the chaotic trio from that morning as well as Daryan by himself awkwardly holding a tray of food. Well, it wasn't really that awkward to any passersby, but to someone actually friends with the kind of an ass it was certainly strange.

Klavier looked around and witnessed the very reason Daryan was alone. Their friend from before Germany, Adagio, was yelling at their other friend, Mixeur, likely about the milk that just got poured on his head. Honestly, Klavier didn't blame Daryan for avoiding those two idiots, but that meant he may have to introduce the shark lover to his new idiot friends.
