A Weekend With Junie Woods (Sunday)

Athena was very warm the next morning. A small gardener was curled up against her. She couldn't tell whether she was awake or not, but at least she knew she seemed happy. She sat up a bit, and it became clear Juniper was very much awake. "Junie?" Athena mumbled groggily.

"Mornin' 'Thena. Sleep well?" Juniper asked into Athena's side. She could clearly feel the vibrations from her laughter.

"Yeah, I did. I bet you slept even better since I'm apparently a good pillow."

The other groaned still facing into her side. "You're warm so shush..." It seemed the only time Juniper would get like this is when she recently woke up. At least Athena wasn't too late in the waking up party.

   "What time is it?"

   "I dunno. I haven't checked."

   "You haven't checked?"

"Too comfy," Juniper mumbled, snuggling into Athena more. Even though she normally woke up early, Juniper was not at all a morning person.

Athena shook her head and wrapped an arm around Junie. "What if I have to get up?" she asked.

   "No."

   "Why not?"

   "I won't let you."

"You sure you can stop me, Junie?"

Juniper hummed into her. "Only if you don't use your arms to pull me off."

Athena chuckled. "Darn." She heard a quiet snoring against her and noticed Juniper had fallen back asleep. The ginger nudged her with her free arm. "Junie, you have to wake up. We're going to miss valuable garden time." That sprang the other to her feet and immediately over to her closet.

"'Thena can you check the weather for me?" Juniper asked, throwing two capelets on the bed. Athena peeked out the window next to the bed. The sun was shining with very few clouds in the sky. A small breeze could be seen by the leaves swaying ever so slightly.

Athena closed the curtains. "It's nice. We shouldn't have to worry about rain."

"Good," Juniper rushed out as she grabbed one of the capelets and rushed to the bathroom. She seemed to be in a hurry, but Athena wasn't entirely sure why. Junie certainly wasn't angry, but it could still be for some other sort of negative reason. Hopefully it wasn't.

Athena sat up, suddenly realizing how cold the room was without Juniper there. She might honestly take a run or at least a jog while Junie was doing whatever it was she needed to leave for. Athena then noticed the capelet that was still on the bed. It was an old capelet she wore the last time she visited.

The only time that capelet ever got worn was over here. Athena had made it when Junie taught her how to knit. She wasn't really proud of it, but Juniper and her grandmother always seemed pretty happy with how her work turned out. It must've been forgotten here before she went to Europe. It was a sweet gesture to still keep the capelet.

Even if she wasn't happy with how it turned out herself, Athena still threw it on now. The light blue had gotten fainter since she last saw it, but it still went pretty well with her usual, yellow attire. One shoulder of the capelet felt particularly soft. That was strange seeing as Athena couldn't remember it being like that before.

It was then that Juniper returned to the room dressed in her usual capelet and dress combo. Her hair was down surprisingly. Athena hadn't seen it down since when she first reunited with her.

   "'Thena?"

   "Yes, Junie?"

"You aren't mad we kept it?" She was whispering at this point.
