Lights Off

"Come on bro! You gotta come!" Denki insisted. Katsuki facepalmed and sighed. His stupid friends have been bugging him to go to the party that discount Pikachu was throwing. When asked what the occasion was, Denki said "No one needs a reason to party!" which was apparently a good enough reason for the rest of the people in their social circle to agree with this whole thing.

Katsuki didn't mind frat parties but since college was stressful to begin with, he had to spend time studying and making sure his grades didn't slip since his scholarship relies on them along with his ranking in the student body. His friends keep saying that he's a natural born prodigy, that he didn't need to spend ridiculous amount of hours studying but he never listened.

However, no big test was coming up and he did have time to spare so he might as well just go since Denki and the others keep on hounding and pestering him. "Fine! You better have my favorite drink there" Katsuki said relenting. He can hear Eijiro cheering in the background. They were probably proud of themselves for finally getting him to comply. He was gonna kick there asses later for annoying him.

"Oh, I know you like your alcohol strong so yes, I'll definitely have your favorite drink here. See ya at 7, Bakubro!" Denki then hung up. Katsuki put his phone away and continued reading the novel Izuku let him borrow. 'Stupid Dunce face and Hair-for-brains, I swear if they weren't my friends, I would've kicked their asses to the sun' Katsuki felt annoyed now but he's loyal so Denki and Eijiro should really consider themselves lucky they haven't been murdered. 

The door opened and in came his roommate, Momo Yaoyorozu. She came back from grocery shopping. "Hello Bakugou" she greeted politely. "Hey Ponytail" Katsuki greeted back, using his nickname for her. She didn't really mind it since at least it wasn't as insulting as the other nicknames he had for people he knew. 

Katsuki helped her carry the groceries in. Him and Momo were in different courses and majors. It was awkward between them sometimes but the girl was nice to him and tolerated his explosive personality so he didn't dislike her. He found it weird that the university let opposite genders be roommates but whatever. There was no funny business between him and Momo so it was all good.

"I'm heading out to dunce face's party at 7 tonight, are you going?" Katsuki asked. Momo shook her head "No, I need to study for an important test tomorrow. I swear, Denki needs to focus on school more. It's a wonder how that guy passes the exams" she scoffed. He responded with a chuckle. Katsuki definitely had to agree with her on that.

"Welp, that's just how he's always been but yeah, how he's able to pass even though he's an idiot nobody knows" He commented. They arranged the groceries together in silence. After they were done, Katsuki went back to reading while Momo had her eyes glued to her phone. 

"I'm guessing your friends pestered you until you agreed to go to Kaminari's party?" Momo asked trying to make conversation. "Tch!" was the only respond she received from the boy. She nodded, understanding what it meant. "I don't blame you for being annoyed, he tried insisting that I come too but it didn't work" she said. 

"I told that discount pikachu not to take advice from Mineta when talking with girls but he never listens" Katsuki wasn't looking at Momo as he spoke but it was still a conversation either way. He was one of the few people who got to see her more snarky and sassy side. "Pfft! Too bad, he's got the good looks but is missing the charm needed in a handsome guy so I guess he'll just stick to his body pillows" they both had a laugh at that.

Katsuki made sure to be fashionably late, just out of spite. He was done dressing up. He looked at his phone and surely enough his friends have already bombarded him with messages asking where he was and why he still hasn't shown up. They were such a pain to deal with sometimes.
