Urban Legends (My Hero Academia fanfic)

Haunted School

Katsuki wasn't sure why he agreed to this in the first place. It was stupid really but Izuku and Ochako wouldn't stop bugging him until he agreed. He wasn't sure how they got Shoto to even go on this outing but the blonde guessed that the boy was either really curious like he was (though Katsuki won't admit that) or he simply had nothing better to do. 

There were rumors circulating about their school. That at night, weird things happen. It was built on a graveyard and it is said that restless spirits haunt the place. Katsuki and Shoto never believed in the paranormal but Izuku and Ochako were horror fanatics and they wanted to see if the urban legend about their school is true.

Ochako practically forced Katsuki and Shoto to join with her frightening persistence and Izuku just begged the 2 boys to accompany them. They stopped their tracks on the front gate of the school. It looked eerie with the night surrounding the place. It was deserted and gave an ominous vibe. Ochako clapped her hands together and faced her male companions.

"Okay! It's precisely midnight and today, we're going to see if the urban legend is true or not. Are you guys excited and scared at the same time?!" She asked. The bob haired girl sounded way too cheerful for someone who's about to enter a supposedly haunted territory. "I certainly am!" Izuku said pumping his fist up weakly. Shoto just shrugged apathetically while Katsuki gave her an annoyed look.

"Now, let's enter the premises" She said attempting to mimic a conspiracy theorist's voice. Ochako picked on the gate's lock with her hairclip. No one knows how or why she knows how to pick locks since she refuses to talk about it. She succeeded and opened the gate. "Let's get this over with" Katsuki grumbled as they entered the school.

They first went to the giant statue which was said to move it's eyes on different directions. The statue's eyes were looking to the left. The teens stared at the statue, waiting for it to move it's eyes like the urban legend said but after about 2 minutes, nothing happened. "This is stupid" Katsuki stated with a bored expression.

"Just because one part has been debunked doesn't mean we should give up! Let's go to the stairs!" Izuku's enthusiasm never faltered no matter what situation he was in. The green haired boy and brown haired girl ran ahead to go see the steps. Katsuki sighed "Those two, I swear..." he growled. "You get used to their energy" Shoto commented. "Boys! Get your asses over here!" Ochako called over to them.

The steps that lead to the school's entrance doors were said to change in number, either multiplying or decreasing when going up and down. "Let's count to see if the number of steps really do change" Ochako suggested. They counted each stair tread as they went up. There were exactly 13 of them. "Let's wait for at least 1 minute before going back down" Ochako said. 

"Are you serious?" Katsuki asked, looking at her as if she grew a second head. She nodded and her face told him that she was definitely not joking. "1 minute won't be enough, let's wait for 2 instead" Izuku interjected. "Okay!" the girl agreed. Shoto kept his usual stoic demeanor but on the inside, he was starting to feel really annoyed. He thinks this whole thing is pointless but thanks to Ochako's pestering and Izuku's begging, he was here so he had to be patient.

After 2 minutes, they went back down and counted the stair treads. Much to Ochako and Izuku's disappointment, the number of steps didn't change and remained at 13. "See? That urban legend you guys love to talk about so much is nothing but a farce! Let's go home already, this is a waste of time!" Katsuki complained. 

Ochako was feeling really upset now and the explosive teen's complaints soured her mood even more. She turned to him with anger written all over her face "Shut up! Are you too much of a coward to keep going all the way through?! We haven't even gotten to the good part yet and your being a buzzkill! If your too much of a chicken then you can go!" She snapped.
