Y/N POV

Once we reach McDonald's I suddenly feel nauseous. There are more people than usual. Closing my eyes and holding my breath, I step foot in the restaurant, squeezing Oikawa's hand. Yes, I'm holding his hand. I'm surprised too.

I gradually open my eyes and let go of his hand. I see my classmates.

Oh no.

They're probably whispering about the fact I'm with Oikawa. They probably think he's hanging out with me cause he feels sorry for me for being a loner... maybe they're right.

"They're probably too busy ordering or eating their meals to notice you," Oikawa explains, "Don't worry."

Did he just read my mind or something?!

I shyly nod and walk over to the ordering screen. Then, I look up at Oikawa who is by my side, "Eat in or takeaway?"

Oikawa comes closer towards me, our shoulders brushing against each other.

"So close." I think, slightly blushing.

"Takeaway," Oikawa leans even closer while tapping the screen, "This place's hella crowded."

"What are you ordering?" I ask.

"I'll just take two mayo chickens and vanilla ice-cream," Oikawa says. He finishes inputting his order, "Alright. What are you getting?"

"20 chicken nuggets and large fries." I say.

"20?!" Oikawa laughs, "You've got a big appetite."

"Yeah," I giggle.

Oikawa inputs my order then reaches for his wallet and takes out a debit card.

He notices my concerned face, "What?"

"I'll pay." I say.

"Nah, it's my treat," Oikawa hovers his card over the POS machine, "But next time, take me to a fancy restaurant, we can both split the money and pay."

"Umm..." I start blushing.

"I'm joking," He laughs while retrieving the receipt. "Alright, now time to wait."

...

"Order 13!" One of the workers exclaims.

It had been 8 minutes and our order was finally ready to collect. For those 8 minutes waiting, I talked a little to Oikawa about volleyball.

Although I have no interest in sports, the guy genuinely made me what to play volleyball. He talked about the different positions, what got him into the sport and talked about some of his teammates and rivals.

I get our food and walk back to Oikawa as we head outside.

"You see, who tick me off the most are prodigies," Oikawa continues the conversation as I hand him over a burger, "It would take me years to 'perfect' my serve, then I see some kid master it within weeks. And the thing about Tobio-chan is he's evolving so fast. Like, it's incredible. It annoys me. The fact I have to accept he's going to surpass me as a setter also irritates me."

I eat my chicken nuggets, "Is he the boy who you've been friends with since childhood?"

"No, that's Iwa-chan. I like Iwa-chan, even though he hits and insults me, he's a friend who I can rely on. He's also brutally honest, so if there's any time I need advice for certain situations, I know who I can ask and trust."

"You call everyone 'chan'," I point out, "Why?"

"I don't know. I like giving people nicknames. It also depends on the person. Speaking about names, what's yours?"
