TOWN OF MAZDA
PRESENT
THERE ARE CEMETERIES THAT ARE LONELY, GRAVES FULL OF BONES THAT DO NOT MAKE SOUND,
THE HEART MOVING THROUGH A TUNNEL,
IN IT DARKNESS, DARKNESS, DARKNESS,
LIKE A SHIPWRECK WE DIE GOING INTO OURSELVES,
AS THOUGH WE WERE DROWNING INSIDE OUR HEARTS,
AS THOUGH WE LIVED FALLING OUT OF THE SKIN INTO THE SOUL.
- 'NOTHING BUT DEATH', PABLO NERUDA.
_________________________________________Lilith looked blankly at the blistering fire burning at the corner inside the marble hearth, the orange-bluish flames crackling and flickering in abandon, little specks of heat fluttering through, as she sat huddled at the side of the bed, her back pressed against the carved teak headboard, her long white dress pooling around her legs. She sat in a deathly silence, fingers clasped together tightly, her knuckles white, as she stared mutedly across the room, mind in a frenzy over the trauma pressing against her from very possible direction.
The room was immersed in a murky darkness with the blinds and curtains closed off, the thick drapes of velvet not allowing a single ray of light to trickle through. Only the fire crackling at the corner provided the hazy luminisence steeping across the room in warm claustrophobia.
Lilith took a deep gulp of breath, her mind racing with the horrors of the past, the weird looking woman had come for her again, her face sheilded in a lacy enclosure, dark cerulean eyes judging every movement of hers. She had forecefully taken her blood again, penetrating her unblemished skin with the needle in sharp thrust, holding her immobile with the help of the boy Alex as she writhed against the subjugation.
Something awful was happening to her since the woman had started taking her blood almost a month ago, from the day she arrived at the damned place, horrific haunting dreams disturbed her whenever she fell asleep, her blood churned in memories of those spectacularly desolate and gruesome nightmares. Lilith felt an overpowering weakness trembling inside her, she was horribly fatigued and often fell asleep where she was forced to endure such agonizing and putrid visions.
Lilith was tremendously scared, after such many years under the royal protection, she was unanimously groped and thrown out of the household, her husband of almost two years discarding her in a thoughtless and unmerciful behaviour. Banished from the Palace Of Asgard, she was transferred to this horrible western province, with its crowded popluation of vicious and cruel temperament.
Tears trickled down her cheeks, her long hair in a wild disarray around her like a halo, she could still remember the horrible day when the official gaurd along with Marc Hopkins had arrived with the commandment sealed in royal emblem, the red wax sealing her fate. Lilith knew that her husband was displeased with her, her childishness and constant clingy behavior of being with him, his mind already conflicted with the current discrepancies varying through the capital was troubling his mind and engaging his time away from her.
Lilith had seen how he grew annoyed at her, spending his nights away from her, his days working tirelessly at the office behind the grey majestic door of the western hallways, head bent over scruffy paperwork, eyes frowning as he discussed with Deus and Tabitha, his assistant. She had observed the growing distance marking her realationship, his eyes seeking out the beautiful mature ladies scurrying across the ball that Lady Veronica had invited them to last month.
After all these years of constant wars and battles, he had grown tired of her, perhaps he had moved on from her, the only passion keeping him on track was revenge, to defeat Elijah so as to secure the throne for himself. Lilith was just another burden he unknowingly accumulated in his hurry to conquer the win. And now after spending his time with her, after realising eternity awaited them,Lucifer had his epiphany, that she was nothing but a young girl, no special abilities except of her nagging love that choked his freedom. He then banned her from the Palace as well the Capital, forbidding her to enter Asgard again, confined inside the palatial home of his loyal followers, tortured and suffocated in her misery.
