GEGE PAY ATTENTION TO ME

The first month of turning into a 23 year old man was unequivocally hard. For the most part that my father decided to leave his company under my care.

I had been studying business and entrepreneur almost half of my life it wasn't my chosen career path but my parent’s. Contemplating that if they're old enough to manage the business they have no one else to pass it around other than me.

I am the only heir, the only person who can reign the company. I almost didn’t accept my father's favor considering how much I hated this job, their job. This job who took all of their time not even sparing the holidays when we were supposed to spend our vacation out of town like the rest of the families.

I wanted to build my own business, my own company nevertheless I am aware of the fact that the company will gone down the drain if I dare not to take over it. All of the time and effort that my parents consumed in this company will be left in vain.

Today is my first day in work as a CEO. My father, as a former CEO will organize a simple ceremony for me as the new man in business. I tried to refuse the idea, I really hate getting a lot of attention, it feels suffocating but nevertheless my father said that the employees must see and familiarize their new boss.

I am standing right behind my father who had been talking in the front for some time now. The ceremony is held on the assembly room, the four corners wasn’t big enough to fit all of the employees though, so some stayed outside of the glass window.

”I am happy to introduce to you, the new employer of WUJI company, my most trusted son, Wang Yibo! Give a round of applause please!”

The room was filled with people clapping their hands to me. I held my chin up and slightly smile to them. My father step aside and gave the floor to me expecting that as a new person to govern his company, I must say something.

”Hello everyone. I am Wang Yibo. I believe that I don’t need to sugarcoat my speech, to tell you the truth this is my first time managing a company however do not underestimate my will, knowledge and power. I hope we’ll work hard together, thank you!”

My father’s expression is something that I couldn't draw. He should've expected this from me, I am not someone who speaks lovely and I will never sugarcoat my words.

The people once again clapped their hands. After the small introduction everyone went back to their offices to do their respective jobs. Meanwhile my father took me to his business partners who attended the ceremony although they're from different corporation and company.

”Your son is really handsome!”

My father chuckled and shook hands with the latter, ”Of course he is. I made him.”

I slightly smiled and nod my head when our eyes met.

”This is Mr. Jiang, he is not just our business partner but he's also our friend.” My father explained.

Mr. Jiang reached out his hands towards me. ”I heard a lot about you. It’s nice to finally meet you, Wang Yibo.”

I took his hands and humbly replied, ”Thank you, Mr. Jiang. I am looking forward to work with you.”

My mom quickly interfered and held both of my father's shoulders and mine. ”Aiyo? Isn’t this the handsome Jiang? Where's your children?”

Mr. Jiang replied, ”Ah, you know them. They never really behave even with me! Don’t worry though, they won't make a mess. They probably roamed around the building.”

Mom nod, ”How’s your daughter by the way?”

I looked over to my mom, staring at her intently. Knowing what she's trying to do right now. Nonetheless she acted like she didn’t sense me and completly ignored my stare at her.

”Ah, she’s good! Good! Just graduated from University and finally reuniting with his brother who came home from america.”

”America? I haven't heard about that.” 

”Well yes, we were so busy with things!”

My father joined, ”Which son though?”

”Oh. Xiao Zhan! My A-Zhan. Between him and ZhuoCheng he’s more independent and open to new things.”

My parents nodded their heads in agreement. They're busy talking to each other while I am awkwardly standing still behind them. Standing like a robot.

”Papa!” A soft voice exclaimed.

I turned around to see who was shouting across the room and found three person running towards us.

”Oh! There they are.” Mr. Jiang said.

They greeted and smiled at my parents. ”Hello Mr. and Mrs. Wang!”

Mr. Jiang pointed me, ”This is Wang Yibo, their only child. From now on, he’ll be the one who's going to manage their company.”

”Hello, nice to meet you, my name is Lu!” The young lady greeted me with a smile.

”Mn.” I simply replied.

”I’m ZhuoCheng!” The other one said.

”Mn.”

Meanwhile the other man didn't acknowledge my presence. He went over to my parents and smiled at them showing his dimples and bunny teeth. ”Hello auntie, uncle, how have you been?”

He didn’t even spare me a glance. Did he just ignored me? I clenched my jaw.

My mom embrace him, ”Oh! A-Zhan! You're really back! And look at you, you've grow up into a one fine young man!”

Dad shakes his hand and laugh with him, ”I bet you had so many relationships while you're abroad huh?”

I somehow envied how they can casually talk to each other meanwhile I, as their own child can’t even talk comfortably to them.

The man named Xiao Zhan shook his head, ”No, no, Uncle. I was behaved!”

I took a moment to glance at him from his head down to his toes and noticed that he was taller than me and even thinner.

”Good thing that you came home! This is my son, Yibo. If you have time you can be friends!” My mom really pushed us together.

We're both surprise when our body bumped against each other. He quickly moved away still not glancing to me.

I am starting to feel irritated.

He chuckled and immediately changed the topic, ”By the way, Auntie I have presents for you! Here, here, these are skin care products. They're really good!”

Mom beamed in happiness and quickly took the bag, ”You’re so thoughtful! I wish I could have a son-in-law like you.”

Call me names for overreacting but my body reacted before I could even think. I slightly elbowed my mom from what she said.

It could've been acceptable if she has a daughter but she doesn't have one. I am his only child! A man.

I might not be embarrassed by the fact that my mother wished him to be her son-in-law, but the fact that I am out of his league.

Xiao Zhan didn't say more and just gave my mother a warm smile. A smile that almost made my heart to feel things.

That was the first time I met him.

The first time that someone ignored me and ignored my presence like I was a fucking invincible.

I should be happy right? I should feel relieved that atleast there is someone out there who doesn't want anything from me but, why do I feel annoyed?
