After a week and a month had passed, I kept seeing them on the same coffee shop and on the fucking same table.
Why do they have to date here?
Why somewhere near my company?
The Jiang's company is on A city. Why did he come all the way to C city just to date on a coffee shop with this guy?
Perhaps he intentionally choose this place so he won't be caught by his father and siblings. I don't know much about him nor his relationship with his siblings and father. Nonetheless why must he have to hide?
Why must they have to hide their relationship?
The man's voice was low, "I think we should stop seeing each other. It's not working, Zhan."
Xiao Zhan was silent for a moment.
He was awkwardly chuckling, "What do you mean? It's working! We're working fine!" His voice cracked.
"No. It's not working besides... My family will wedded me to their business partner."
Xiao Zhan laughed, his laugh wasn't pleasing. The pain was written on his face and voice, "That's why you're breaking up with me? How long have you known this marriage?"
The man took a while before answering, "A month or so."
"And instead of telling me this beforehand you choose to keep this from me? We should've think of other options."
"Zhan, there are no other options. I have to accept this marriage. You know I can't say no to my parents."
"Why can't you say no? You've been stubborn and disobedient to them the moment you started dating me... unless, you like the girl... You like her, right?"
I stood up and went out, not wanting to hear the other heartbreaking words from them. Why do I feel the pain? It's not like I'm the one who got dumped?
A took a deep sigh before finally stepping out from the coffee shop. That was ridiculous.
The whole reason was absolutely ridiculous and incoherent. If you really loved someone wouldn't you initiate to break the rules for the person you love?
Why must he let his parents decide his life for him? He's the one who's going to be wedded to that person, he'll spend the rest of his life with someone who he doesn't love. Wouldn't that be too cruel?
Ah, goddamn it. If I were in his place I would fucking elope with Xiao Zhan and live with him somewhere far away.
But that's not the case. I am not him. I am just someone who's nothing for him. Someone who he didn't even gave a single glance.
If I met Xiao Zhan sooner would it be different? If we met sooner maybe we aren't emotionally miserable.

"What happened to you? You look like you got rejected by someone."
"Shut up, Jiyang."
It may be too sudden but I eventually got some people to talk to. Someone who doesn't want my face, popularity nor riches.
Song Jiyang and Li Bowen are my friends. They're both from different company but because of that one particular conference, we met each other.
They're both handsome, popular and rich. They have nothing to take away from me except my sanity. They're both chaotic and likes to have fun, unlike me.
"Stop glaring will you?" Bowen said.
"He's not glaring! That's his natural look!" Jiyang would say.
I heaved a sigh, "Hypothetically, if you like someone who doesn't like you, what would you do? Hypothetically?"
Jiyang and Bowen tilted their heads at the same time. Trying to think of the best word to explain it.
Jiyang expressed, "I would force myself to them. I mean life is short why not go for it? First we must get to know each other, then go to dates, do fun things together and talk like there's no tomorrow."
I hummed in response.
Bowen added, "That's right. Always start with the basic, get to know each other."
I furrowed my eyebrows. How am I supposed to get to know him? He probably doesn't want to see me nor talk to me.
"Hypothetically speaking what if they acts like they doesn't see you or acknowledge your presence?"
Jiyang, "Make them notice you."
Bowen, "I seconded."
"But how?"
They both stared at me with a grin on their faces.
I repeated, "But how? Hypothetically?"
Jiyang chuckled and clasped his hands, "Are you thinking what I'm thinking bowen? Someone's inlove!"
"Damn right. It hit him straight here." He pointed at his chest.
"But he isn't straight." They both laugh and gave high five to each other meanwhile I stared at them boringly.
"What now?" I cleared my throat.
"Just be yourself. You're already handsome so it's not that hard to make him notice you. Be a head turner!" Jiyang exclaimed.
"Does physical appearance have to be the first?" I annoyingly stated.
Jiyang shoved his phone at my face, "Here, read and learn from this article and you'll see."
He added, "If you tried all of these steps and he still doesn't notice you, consult me again."
Bowen snorted, "What are you, a love doctor?"
"Shut up!"
This might look pathetic and desperate but I do really want him to noticed me though. I took a quick glance on the article and saved the screenshots on my phone.
I might really be trying all of these things though. I have to give it a shot.
Sigh, the things I do for love.
