MR. SHANNON
Why do people waste their time seeking for the assistance of a fitness instructor if they have no intention of following exactly what he or she advises?
Every time she walks through the door, I know I'm in for the fight of my professional career. I should excuse her ignorance, but it has become increasingly more difficult to deal with people who have no concern for their own health and expect me to give them some magic pill that will decrease their weight and give them the body of their dreams.
For some reason, people don't think about the work that goes into a perfect body. I'm not talking about saline or silicone breasts and I certainly do not advocate silicone injections or implants in the ass. That's an expensive but easy way to change the body. A proper understanding of the individual's body and how it burns fuel is required. That includes an exercise and nutrition overhaul.
Not everyone can eat ridiculously large portions of carbohydrates and lose weight. The same thing can be said for sugar, proteins, fat, or any nutrients.
Balance is the key.
If there is a good balance between the food we eat and the amount of physical exertion we engage in, that balance will produce a certain height to weight ratio. Health problems and medication also factor into the equation, of course.
Anyone who seriously wants to get down to a healthy weight and maintain it must be prepared to change their life.
Because there is so much unhealthy food and tons of misinformation circulating out there, hundreds of millions of people walk around overweight and many of them suffer from life-threatening illnesses while still confused about the proper way to change their lives. Instead of working with those who are trying to help them, many potential clients become angered when they are shown how to make those hard but necessary changes to their lives.
It's too difficult for some to leave fast food and junk food alone. They take their frustrations out on the wrong people, such as myself, and that is when I will quickly fire them as a client. I don't waste my time trying to help those who refuse to listen and help themselves.
My training and understanding of health isn't my opinion. It is scientifically proven.
However, my decision to not deal with the foolish silly behavior of insecure or undisciplined people is my prerogative. And in the words of Bobby Brown, I can do what I want to do.
Anyone who knows me will definitely tell others I don't mince words. They already know this is just how I am. So, when Kimmie asked me to move some things around to fit her friend into my already crazy schedule, I should have known to expect some challenges. Because I owe her so much, I didn't ask the questions that are required of anyone else making such a request.
I would do absolutely anything for her because she is like my little sister, after all.
My brother and Kimora "Kimmie" Brandon were a couple of years behind me in high school when they started dating. She decided to move to New York to pursue a modeling career when she graduated. After she signed her first contract, Kimmie never reconnected with my brother, but that didn't stop any of us from staying in contact or holding onto our friendship.
I went on to work for a fitness center in Dallas, Texas, when one day, out of the blue, Kimmie reached out to me and invited me to meet with an agent who was looking for a physically fit ginger for a few fashion projects. The agent referred me to their contact who was a talent scout with the hopes of getting me signed to a limited contract to complete a few projects. Depending on the success of those photoshoots, an option to sign a more exclusive deal was the prize I worked diligently to acquire.
