'Yeah, I'll just wear some baggy sweat pants and a hoodie*'
*The word Hoodie is marked as informal, please use Sweater insead.
That way of dressing and speaking is informal. Such as not brushing your teeth or going out with messy hair. I have a good example for you. Imagine being approached by a friend who doesn't smell good, looks quite awful and doesn't treat you with respect. You wouldn't want to be their friend, right? And that is why you should maybe look at yourself and question:
'Is this good enough to be treated well by others?'
I'm not saying you have got to be the most Attractive nor you have you put on tons and tons of make-up! Just get into the shower, brush your teeth, get yourself a good Hairstyle and put on a pretty T-shirt and comfortable jeans. And you're good to go! That is called dressing casually. As you can see it's just like the way of speaking. There are three stages: informal, casual and formal. Which moves us on to the next point.
Dressing formally! The ways of Dressing formally are quite different. It depends if you're a male, a female or non-binary. As a male, you could have the casual outfit every groom wears at a marriage or you dress yourself culturally. You can use gel to make your Hair look better. Females always wear beautiful dresses. It doesn't matter what size or colour. They also put on beautiful make-up and get themselves a Hairstyle. A few like to put on High-Heels, but this is optional. If you don't feel comfortable wearing them, then you can just avoid them and wear comfortable shoes.
Non-binary people can choose what to wear, it doesn't matter.
Dressing Formally is also a way of showing respect towards people. You can dress Formally in a marriage, an important meeting with an important personality or on a Live TV Show.
