Chapter 17

Rain's POV

I couldn't believe Calvin was the one behind all of this. I needed to get to Zane but first we had to find Elena before him and figure out who the other female was they were after.

Once their footsteps retreated Xander and I exited the room before he went to find Wyatt and I tracked Calvin. I made sure to stay silent and out of sight as I followed his scent toward Gen's room. The closer I got the more terrified I became as I began to smell blood. He instant rushed into the room as I linked Zane.

Zane get your ass to Gen's room now!

I quickly shut the link as I felt him stir and heard shouting. I rushed into the room to be shocked yet again. Caleb was covered in blood and breathing heavily while Gen hid her naked body underneath the blankets.

"You fucking liar!" Caleb roared at his brother who stood with a smirk.

"What did you expect dear brother that I would let your mate become queen? An abomination like her!" He shouted as he pointed at a terrified Gen. "You broke your end of the deal anyway. You weren't supposed to mate with her now she must die just like the bitch Rain before they can reproduce more abominations."

It all finally made sense. Caleb was never glaring at us but at his brother. Gen was his mate but his brother threatened to use her against his brother if he didn't try and stop the law. All the pieces fell into place and I became angry.

"You son of a bitch!" I snarled causing everyone to notice me for the first time. "You are the reason we nearly lost two children! Not to mention the attempt on my life at the challenge. You are also behind the fact that Elena and Devon are trying to kill Gen and myself."

At first Calvin was terrified that i had uncovered everything and he was now against both Caleb and myself. But during my rant I hadn't noticed Devon sneaking up behind me till Gen screamed and a silver knife was placed against my throat.

"I am not finished yet you will die today you worthless bitch." Devon snarled in my ear.

Without thinking about it I placed my hand on the arm with the knife and watched as images flashed before my eyes before they stopped on a recent memory.

Devon was standing in a field pacing as Calvin approached him with a woman i had seen a few times. "What do you want Prince Calvin?" He asked worried and angrily.

"Now now that's no way to talk to the man who is going to help you out." He tsked causing Devon to stiffen. "Now witch." He whispered and I watched as Elena was transported there and Devon was all of a sudden frozen.

"Let her go you bastard! What are you doing?" He snarled as Calvin began waltzing around a frozen and terrified Elena.

"Well here is what is going to happen alpha Devon. My father is planning on trying to pass a law allowing those abominations such as your true mate to live and it be a crime to harm or kill them without reason. As if their being alive isn't reason enough. But until that happens I need some assurances against you and your pack. If you do not help me stop this law and kill that blind bitch as well as my brothers mate I will make sure any and every pup you have will either die before birth or be born deformed." Calvin said with a smirk as both their eyes widened in horror.

The witch glared at Calvin before snapping her fingers and cursing Elena and Devon to a life of their worst nightmare until either I and Gen were dead or the law failed.

I was panting when we came out of the memory and without realizing what I had done exactly Devon roared before throwing me roughly into the wall. I was unprepared for it and smashed my head against the wall and collapsed on the floor. Everything began to darken but not before I watched Devon attack Calvin with so much anger and hatred he never stood a chance. Just as he grabbed him by the throat I blacked out.
