She woke up to the sound of her doorbell in the middle of the night and then someone just walking right in. She quickly sat up in bed and in a few seconds her room was raided with men in black cloaks. At the foot of her bed one of them removed their hoods and beneath it was David Akai.

"It's time Isabel. Your death is near. It's perfect timing since your dad won't get home for another hour and Matthew is gone. He left you to fend for yourself." He spoke in a monotone voice but she could tell he was mocking her.

"I'm not going anywhere with you David. Not this time. This time I refuse to die!" She stood out of bed and pulled out her bow and arrow, shooting him in the arm and then the hand and leg, purposefully missing his heart. "I'll shoot you for every time you've killed me."

She jumped awake in bed being shaken by somebody. She didn't know who it was but she threw her arms around them even though she was soaked with sweat from her dream. The body felt comfortingly familiar and when she opened her eyes she knew why, "Mom." Her mom was here finally, the person she'd wanted to see since she'd left.

"I'm here honey. I can't believe this is happening to you. You of all people." Her mother hugged her back and started crying.

"Who told you!" She was so confused.

"Matthew, he called early this morning and I got the first flight out here to see you. Oh baby, I can't believe your father didn't call me sooner! I mean what!? Stage three cancer and they say you have two months to live? But you turn eighteen in two months. You might not even get to live to be an adult." Her mother started crying even harder. She was as surprised by the news as her mother was.

"Is he here? Dad because he doesn't know about it either, or else I'm sure he would've told you mom." She wished Matthew had let her in on this plan sooner.

"No sweetheart, but I'm sure Matthew would've called him as soon as possible."

"Will you stay here, I want to talk to him alone for a few."

"He isn't here right now." Her mother looked torn almost.

"Just stay in the house then, no matter what happens stay in the house." Her mother was confused but when she stood to stand her mother didn't follow.

She walked down the stairs quickly and when Matthew really was no where to be seen she ran up to the front door, his jeep was still there which meant he was close. She went outside, throwing on a cardigan because she knew it'd be a little chilly and called out to him.

"Matthew!" She only had to call out twice when she saw his dark figure fly quickly across the sky. Like a hidden plane. She could see the outline of his wings while he flew in circles high up in the air, debating whether to land or not. Finally he landed in front of her, his wings still out as if he was prepared to disappear in an instant. "I had a dream that David was her and he was coming to kill me, you'll keep me safe right?"

"No. I can't help you or keep you safe from David ever. He is my biggest enemy and he is my only enemy. Your dream wasn't a dream, it was real, but when I'd gotten back from being out it was obviously too late to help you. You really do have stage four cancer. Its in your arm, leg and it's going to spread to your heart in two months and I would take you to a hospital but I saw what happens to you if you do go, they can't slow it down, there is no point in trying." He was a monotone rock.

"What do you mean they can't do anything? How did I get cancer!?! I was fine just days ago and now I get to live with cancer for the last two months of my life! What will you do with me when it gets to the point that I can't do anything because I'm so freaking sick it hurts just to live?" She suddenly started bawling out of no where. "Matthew I don't want to die this way! I don't want you to go through this again. I want to stay and live out my life happily with you and have a million children together. Little guardian angel half human children even if they are ugly and have like one wing because they are half of you and half of me." She couldn't stop the tears no matter how hard she tried, "And I don't want you to see me like that!"

"I can't give that to you and you know it. Your lifetime is eighteen and nobody can change it no matter how much they want to. But don't worry, I won't see you like that. I'm leaving tonight for California. I'm stopping this life for me. I'm not going to sleep by your grave this time, I won't come to your funeral. After this you won't be seeing me for the rest of your life." His expression didn't change a bit and he'd barely look at her, "I know how it ends every time and neither do I want to be here to watch it happen again. I can't live this way anymore. I can't love you anymore. David Akai found a way to inject the cancer into your body, it must've been at the party when you 'first' met."

"How can you do this to me!" She hit him in the chest and after one hit it was like she was throwing a tantrum and by the time she was done hitting him her arms were around him. "Please don't leave me alone. I love you Matthew, do you hear me? I've loved you since I was five! We've had our whole lives together, please just stay with me." He pried her arms from around him and pushed her back a few spaces.

"Goodbye Isabel." His tone was hard and cold.
