INDIGO

I spent the remainder of my weekend by the Black Lake. It was where I always went when I had a lot on my mind, and I definitely had a lot on my mind then.

Draco Malfoy was going to try killing Albus Dumbledore, and it still shouldn't have been surprising... but now it shouldn't have been surprising for different reasons.

Yes, Dumbledore was an outspoken opposer of Voldemort, and broadcasting your loyalties while your country was on the brink of civil war was a dangerous thing to do. The Malfoy family, meanwhile, had been loyal to Voldemort since the beginning. I had once heard Draco himself claim that there was a photo of his grandfather and Him from their Hogwarts days hanging in their home. I didn't know how true that was, but he didn't seem ashamed of it. It didn't seem to bother him at all. So, Draco definitely had reason to be involved and that pathetic Lucius Malfoy was undoubtedly that reason.

Yet, no matter how many times I said it to myself, the reality of the situation didn't feel any more... real.

This was the same boy who had tried to get a hippogriff executed after receiving a scratch on the arm when he insulted it; the same boy who had been turned into a ferret during Fourth Year; the same boy that was so desperate for attention and recognition. I've seen the way he looks at his father, how he always seems to be doing something for his approval, above anyone else's. If Draco does end up becoming a Death Eater, what are the chances that he will do it because he wants to—because he thinks he will earn his father's approval doing it?

The likelihood of that being the reason broke my heart and I felt bad for him. But, after the last time, I had no plans of going on another rescue mission. And this is precisely why when timetables were passed out that Monday, I nearly spat out my tea.

"We have Herbology with the Slytherins again this year?" asked Stephen.

"On both Monday and Tuesday," Su Li groaned.

"Of course we do," he sighed.

Bloody hell, how was I supposed to avoid getting involved with Draco when I had to see him three hours a week, not even including meals and run-ins between classes? I was trying not to think about him, to do what every other seer does and let Fate do its thing. But being forced to spend so much time with him would certainly make things difficult.

"Indie, are you okay?" Aria asked. "You've gone a little pale."

I didn't answer. I got up from my seat and went after Professor Flitwick.

"Professor Flitwick!" I called.

With raised eyebrows, he turned to me, the several rolls of parchment timetables levitating behind him.
