'Why is he so perfect', I thought to myself leaning my body on a desk. I hated class until Ken Collins one day walked in saying he's attending it, What a honor.
Ken walks my way and smiles, I quickly look away and hope to god he didn't just catch me starring at him. " Liv, Right?", He says smiling, pushing his brown hair back.
"Yeah", I responded looking down at the ground.
"cool, Um hey maybe we can go get coffee sometime, ice cream too?", He giggles. "Considering you're my neighbor now, and you're cute", He says.
"Sure, I mean yeah, yes", I say as I rose quickly and accidentally turn my desk over. "Shit", I mummer.
"Here", He picks up the desk and hands me my papers. "Ill pick you up at six", Ken says blushing. Ken walks away then looks back and smiles. I'm thinking to myself harder than ever. Why me? This is amazing, everything in my life is going so well. My parents are back together, I just got a car, I got into UCLA, and Ken Collins is taking me out tonight, on a date.
"BEEP.BEEP.BEEP. COLD YELLOW. CODE YELLOW. BEEP.BEEP.BEEP" My ears feel as if they're bleeding and I realize that our school is under attack, maybe it's a drill? My teacher tells us to hide under the tables to the side of the classroom and everyone's squeezing, trying to figure out what the hell is going on. This is nothing, It's California and we do these all the time. Thinking it's a drill, I get up to go get my cell phone and hear people tell me i'm insane because this is real. Why do they even think that? I don't hear shooting or anything. I spoke to soon, I hear three gun shoots go off and a mans voice. "Holy shit", I run underneath the table, crowding into the tiny space. My hearts beating really fast, and i feel tears running down my face. I hear the door get shot open, and I close my eyes.
