Third Person's POV:
In late night when most of the people hurried back home from a long tiring day of office in hope to give some rest to their exhausted body or simply few hours of peace to their already chaotic mind from workload, a man could be seen walking in an unhurried pace without any care of the world around him. His teeth chattering leading him to occasionally rub his arms together as the thin peice of clothing that he wore won't prevent the cold breeze from giving him goosebumps.
The peaceful silence he initially felt on the seaside all day long was replace with loud horns, harsh whispers and noisy tapping of shoes of the people walking around, making him flinch every time if someone passes too close from his comfort proximity. Thereby making him think 'When was the last time he had spend a day out on his own will not having anyone at his side, nagging or sulking with glares directed on him'.
Maybe not in recent years. Thou its his own doing, he still feels remorseful about cutting out with people who overlooked his situation in times of needs yet he don't regret it a bit. But then again why should he feel that way. Is it because of the relationship they share with him or Is it because of who he once considered them to be?
He don't know.
Having thought of his inner demon again he hung his head low with shoulders slightly hitched in annoyance. Shoving both hands in pockets of his jeans he fisted them in anticipation when he felt a vibration from his back pocket making him remember how deliberately had he avoided answering his phone since the morning. He had even lost counts of how many times had he cut the calls knowing that the caller is as persistent.
With all the things going on in his head which he tried really hard to stop from coming again and again, he didn't noticed when his steps came to halt. Standing on the side walk he waited for the traffic light to turn red like any other pedestrian did, shifting on their feet impatiently.
Through the time cars passed by honking, his calm yet anxious pupil took a swift look around the area and lingered on the building just on the opposite side from where he was standing. Where most of the windows were alike he could still make out which was his from the very similar pattern of curtains used on a particular room of the third floor, making him internally sigh.
"He is still awake!" His plump lips stretching in thin line seeing the faint light coming from his room.
Its this particular day every year that he had always planned beforehand on how to disappear so early in the morning and get back home late at night, to avoid a possible heated encounter with someone that he know will surely happen that always leaves him with guilt of not being expressive much. But guess, like always luck is not on his side tonight as well.
His head shook of the internal debate when his phone pinged alerting him of the incoming text. With the small amount of curiousity yet nervous of what could be written in there, he gave in to his inner self. He was about to see what massage he might have received this time when people on the side walk moved, taking him forward with them as well.
Before he could have reached for the phone his head shot to the side in panic with the sudden motion on the busy road but visibly relaxig as he realized that the light had turned red and he should get going, anyways. So he walked and entered the building right across, taking the stairs to his floor to buy himself some time.
He was not rushing nor was he trying to delaying the known possibility, thou maybe giving himself few minutes to collect his thought in place but guess steps were not enough for him for that than they seemed this morning when he ran off.
"Please. Not yet!" He contined walking with heavy mood as if only dragging himself to the destination and few minutes later he stopped on his floor breathing heavily but somehow his body stilled for a moment as his eye fell over the wooden door in front of him. His gaze falters for a bit as his eyes longingly swept over the name plate drilled on it.
"Mr. & Mr. Suthiluck". How much had he came to appreaciate that name.
Taking deep breathe to calm his racing heart and exceptionally short strides he moved ahead, a bit disoriented from the scenes of past playing in his petite head when his phone pinged again. This time he took it out, making an attempt to read the content send to him as he opened the door to his room and went inside.
His eyes not leaving the phone screen, fingers lightly taping over it whilst he closed the door behind himself.
"How nice to have you back P'Arthit? I thought I might have to file a missing complaint this time so that you will be brought back 'safe and sound'?" He mentally winced hearing the monotonous voice of the person whom he didn't expect to come face to face with this soon, if coming home this late even makes any sense.
"You know theres no need to for that Kongpob. I am not a kid to be lost and you see, I am perfectly fine?" Arthit replied lazily, shrugging his shoulder as if he is not a bit affected from all this.
"Hmmm... I guess I don't have the right to worry over my husband's whereabout. Didn't knew if I will have to ask it this soon but phii!! Am I turning into a stranger to you now?" Kongpob sounded hurt as he softly spoke of the vex he had started to feel in their married life recently.
Arthit's head shot up at that, body trembling with the known truth that he knew will happen one day but never really opted to believed it. His eyes glistening with unshade tears as he couldn't take in more of the pained look of the man he wanted to make happy, was reflecting. And he felt his heart shattered hearing that.
His phone slipped through the sweaty fingers, its loud falling sound breaking the moment of awkward silence between the couple.
Arthit staggered on the feet and his knees gave away. Stumbling back he crashed against the hard door and the sob he was holding in escaped from between his lips. "A-am sorry!"
".... am s-orry.... s-o.. sorry.... please..." His hands desperately trying to stop the needy voice from coming out yet he failed miserably in that mere attempt.
"I ju-.... I just wanted it to be gone, Kong. Believe me! I-I just wanted it to be gone." His agonising cries amplifying as the seconds passed.
Kongpob's face twitched in anguish. His hurt forgetten for the time being as he moved forward, engulfing his phii in his tight yet warm hug trying to take away all the misery. Swinging his shaking body sidewise muttering nothing more but white noices as he shade tears alongside him.
"Shhh~~.... Its going to be fine. You have me. Everything will be alright, love. Alright." It had been hard for them all along, mostly for his P'Arthit and he knew that his phii need him more than he need him for the time being.
