Asena stood behind Sansa as they greeted the Lady of Bear Island. The wildling had to keep herself from showing just how confused she was at the young girl that held so much power.

"Lady Mormont," Jon greeted.

"Welcome to Bear Island," the young lady greeted in return, her eyes landing curiously on the wildling standing so close behind the Starks.

"I remember the day you were born, my lady. You were named for my Aunt Lyanna. It was said she was a great beauty. I'm sure you will be, too," Sansa said after receiving a look from her brother, encouraging her to speak up.

"I doubt it. My mother wasn't a great beauty or any other kind of beauty. She was a great warrior, though. She died fighting for your brother, Robb," the Mormont girl told them, gaining a respectful nod from Asena.

"I served under your uncle at Castle Black, Lady Lyanna. He was also a great warrior and an honorable man. I was his steward. In fact-" Jon started but was cut off by Lady Mormont.

"I think we've had enough small talk. Why are you here?"

Asena had to stop herself from letting out a laugh, the young lady gained more and more of the wildling's respect with every word she said.

"Stannis Baratheon garrisoned at Castle Black before he marched on Winterfell and was killed. He showed me the letter you wrote to him when he petitioned for men. It said-" Jon explained but was once again cut off by Lyanna Mormont, Asena once again having to hold in a laugh but this time it was because of the annoyed look on her friend's face.

"I remember what it said. 'Bear Island knows no king but the King in the North whose name is Stark.'"

"Robb is gone, but House Stark is not. And it needs your support now more than ever. I've come with my sister to ask for House Mormont's allegiance," Jon told the Lady.

At this, Lyanna leaned toward the man at her side and they whispered quietly to each other before the Lady finally turned back to Jon.

"As far as I understand, you're a Snow and Lady Sansa is a Bolton. Or is she a Lannister? I've heard conflicting reports," the Mormont said, Asena's jaw clenching as she glanced toward Sansa to make sure she was alright.

With a small nod in the wildling's direction, the Stark reassured the woman that she would be fine before turning to speak to the young lady in front of her.

"I did what I had to do to survive, My Lady. But I am a Stark. I will always be a Stark."

"If you say so. In any case, you don't just want my allegiance. You want my fighting men," Lyanna stated, a stern look on her face.

"Ramsay Bolton can not be allowed to keep Winterfell, my lady. It is our duty to stop him. Even more so because he holds our brother Rickon Stark as prisoner. What you have to understand, My Lady, is that-" Jon was cut off once again, but this time Asena did not feel the urge to laugh.
