Hello! Finally updating again. I'll be wrapping the story up soon so look forward to that. Also, I've been really into Stray kid's music lately and kinda want to make a Felix fanfic after I finish this book but I'm not sure if I have the time. What do y'all think?
Lisa
We arrived in front of a large black gate after a long drive. The gate instantly opened after Jungkook showed his face on the intercom.
Driving onto a familiar winding cobblestone path, I saw the silhouette of a pretty house in the distance. My eyes widened as I connected the dots. "Wait, Jungkook. Are we where I think we are??"
Jungkook chuckled at me and replied, "I don't know, where do you think we are?"
I saw a distinct figure standing on the porch of the house and quickly got out of the car after it was parked.
"Hyori unnie?!!"
"Lisa-ah! I can't believe you guys are finally here!!"
"I can't believe I'm here either!" I said, enveloping her in a large hug. Hyori was the queen of K-pop and an inspiration to me and countless others.
"Jungkook, you never freaking told me you knew the Hyori freaking Lee!"
...
After a quick shower, we gathered in front of the warm fire as Sang soon oppa grilled some delicious meat and osyters."Wow, when Jungkook called to ask if he could stay over, I didn't believe him when he told me that you might be coming over too." Hyori said excitedly.
"Oh it's such an honor to be here unnie!" I said shyly, awestruck at her.
She was quick to dissuade my fears. "Ah, you don't need to be so formal! Just relax and enjoy tonight as if you're staying at your parent's house."
"So, how did Jungkook manage to get such a capable girl like yourself?" Sang soon asked mischeviously.
Jungkook's eyes widened. "Hyung! We're not dating..... kinda?"
I rolled my eyes at his remark but was once again unable to stop my face from turning red as a beetroot. "The whole world thinks we're dating already including my amazing company."
Hyori's eyes softened. "Did something happen with your company? Don't feel pressured to talk about it."
I sighed quietly and shook my head. "I'm pretty sure I just got fired by my company."
"I mean, the girls and I kind of expected this after the management conflicts in YGE but just not like this."
Hyori nodded her head in understanding as she had her experiences too.
"Well, don't dwell on this for too long. Now you don't have to confine yourself to a company anymore. Your options are limitless." She said encouragingly as she reached out to squeeze my hand reassuringly.
Tears welled up in my eyes as I smiled gratefully at her kind words. Hyori had such an inviting and insightful aura about her that made me feel like I was at home.
...
Washing the plates after dinner along with Hyori (because she wouldn't let me do it by myself) the conversation flowed effortlessly between us.Her eyes twinkled mischeviously as she grabbed a plate from me. "So.... what's really going on between you and Jungkook?"
"I-i don't know what you mean."
"You can't fool me. I've seen one too many couples to know a lovestruck pair."
"I guess there may be something going on between us...? But I'm scared." I paused before continuing.
"Well, I'm scared of the public finding out. This whole time I've been denying the rumours because he really was my friend but somehow it grew to be more than just a friendship. I'm scared that everyone will think I lied. I'm scared that they will hate me for this. What if I'm only liking him because everyone's been telling us to date? What if he doesn't even like me?" All the pent up worries and frustrations I had unexpectedly gushed out like a waterfall at high tide.
"It's okay. Just take a deep breath first."
"No matter what anyone says, this is your life Lisa. We all have little and precious time to spend. I've realised that I can't make everyone happy, so the least I can do is try to be happy and if being with Jungkook makes you happy who's to stop you? You should follow what your heart tells you." Hyori replied calmly.
Anxiously, I fiddled with my hands as I processed her words.
"Trust me when I say this, Jungkook is head over heels for you, anyone can see it. Besides, if he ever breaks your heart, I'll give him a good beating on your behalf." Hyori added with a dramatic boxing stance.
I laughed at her wild action and finally felt free. Screw all the haters right? This is my life and I'll do what I want with it. In the corner of my eye, I saw a familiar black jacket turning in the air.
But what did my heart want exactly?
Jungkook
My heart pounded as I stood frozen against the brick wall. I didn't mean to eavesdrop but I was going to get some water and accidentally overheard Lisa and Hyori's conversation. Was that what was going on in Lisa's mind? Unable to stay any longer, I quietly walked out of the house.Sitting in front of the kindling fire, I let my thoughts wander until someone cleared their throat quietly. "Is this seat taken?" Lisa said shyly as I motioned for her to sit down.
"So... uh, I saw you just now."
"Oh."
"Yea."
An awfully loud and awkward silence enveloped the air.
"Do you want to go on a date with me?" Lisa blurted out.
"What?" I said with a shocked expression.
"I like you Jungkook. You're kind hearted, you're passionate and caring with the things and people you care about. You helped me be my true self. Every time I with you, I feel at peace and happy. Damn. I don't even know how to say how grateful I am to have you in my life." She confessed.
I took her hands and said with a serious expression. "Lisa, I'm think I'm the one that should be thanking you for being in my life."
And then I kissed her. It wasn't anything dramatic with fireworks exploding around us but it just felt right. With Lisa in my arms, I felt at home.
