Shakur High is like any other high school. We have our "clicks". You know the nerds, jocks, drama nerds, emos, and so on and so forth. But most importantly the mean girl who thinks she owns the school and her two minions. There was one person who seem to always be their target, me. I'm Mia Lex Paris and I am not a shy person. I don't let them walk over me, I push back. It helped that I had my best friend by my side, Jason Alexander Morningstar. He's been by my side scene the day we were born. Our parents were and still are best friends. Our dads are childhood friends and they all met in high school. If there's anything I'm sure of it's that Jay's always there for me.

The day was going as it normally does. Me and Jason are in the hallway heading to class.

"I'm sooo tired." I yawned. Recently I've been coming to school with bags under my eyes. "Up late again?" Jason responded. He already knew the answer. Because for the past two weeks I've been sleeping in class.

"Maybe I was maybe I wasn't. What's it to ya?" I snapped. Like most people when I don't get enough sleep I'm cranky. "Someone hasn't had their coffee this morning," Jason said hoping to put a smile on my face. It worked of course.

*bell rings*

"Ready for class?" I asked. Jay sighs then put a smile on his face and says" As ready as I'll ever be." He didn't like English. It wasn't his best subject. Though he's really good at sports Basketball is his favorite.

Jason and I headed to class. When we get to class the teacher, Ms. Happy, isn't there yet."Imma takes a nap. Wake me up when Ms. H. gets here." I told Jason who replied with "Sure thing".

*20 min. pass*

"Good morning class. Sorry, I'm late. Today's going to so be relaxed. All you have to do is answer some questions." said Ms.Happy excitedly. No matter what Ms.Happy lived up to her name. She never failed to have a smile on her face.

"GET UP!" yelled Jason. Which lead to me falling out of my chair."Watch your back." I said  furiously. As I got up off the floor. "why tho? I did as you asked." Jay said being dramatic.

"Go to p.g. 121 and answer questions 1-40," said Ms.Happy.

Jay and I looked at each other with a confused look as the rest of the class yelled "BOO". One thing about Ms.Happy that no one liked is that she always gives the most classwork. But, she made up for it by not giving homework.

"Has she lost it?" I asked. Jay nodded as confirmation.

For the next 30 min. The class worked hard to finish as many questions before class was over. When it comes to describing the noise in the room; the expression "Pen drop silent" doesn't come to mind. The classroom was loud. You heard all kinds of music, conversations, and videos but that's just how we got things done in this class.

"What did you get for 32?" I asked Jason who was changing the song on his phone. Before he could respond someone said "Is that how you get all your answers. By cheating off Jason." coming from the table next to us. And of course, it was Avery "Ava" Summers. She's our school's mean girl. She's had a "thing" for Jason for the longest. It's rare when you see her by herself. Cause she always has one of her minions with her.

"She doesn't need to cheat," replied Jason. He always felt the need to defend me when it comes to people like her. Sometimes he wouldn't even let me get a word in.

"Jay you don't need to waste your breath on her. She doesn't have enough space in her head to retain anything you say." I told him. We both laughed. I could feel her glare at me even harder. If looks could kill I would be a goner. "Jason knows that's not true," Avery said looking at him with sad eyes. " Of course he does," said Jasmine trying to reassure her. Jasmine Waters was one of Avery's minions. She was really smart and super nice. But, she was also really insecure.
