Blood.
The sticky crimson was everywhere. Nothing was spared from the splatter. My pale silver eyes silently glanced around the room as I took in the damage the demon has caused.
A gentle breeze blew through a broken window and rustled my pure white colored hair. I shook my head in disgust as I moved around the bodies of a young couple. The scent of blood and death filled the air and made it hard to breath. And yet I continued on with my searching.
Speed was my speciality as I moved up the staircase with great ease and quickness. My body a blur of white and silver as I moved. It was the only hint to my presence in the manor. I stopped for a moment as a loud snap had caught my attention. Peering around a corner I saw what I was searching for - my prey - a demon.
A faint smirk crossed my features before I reached into my holsters and pulled out twin revolvers. Tumbling out of my hiding spot, I shot four magically charged bullets at the demon before it could sense my presence. One bounced off of a lamp and the others hit it in the back, neck, and head. Yet, I knew it wouldn't be enough. The creature, enraged and with pain, turned towards me and began shifting into a large wolf - a hellhound - a began sniffing the air.
"So that's your true form," I muttered as I peaked out at the demonic creature standing before me. I raised my revolvers and jumped out of my hiding spot with great speed. My fingers found the triggers and began shooting rapidly. The hellhound growled and leapt out of the way before running after me as I ran from spot to spot.
It snapped it's jaws at me as it attempted to match my speed and end my life. Pulling out a dagger from it's sheath and throwing it at the demon, it stabbed it in its spine, causing it to fall to the ground - paralyzed.
A small smirk graced my features once more as I walked up to it slowly, knowing full well that it could snap at me still. As I moved closer the creature glared at me, it's eyes showing hatred and even a little fear. I walked up to its head and placed my revolver's barrel up to the top of it and pulled the trigger - ending it's life on earth immediately.
"Well that's that then," I said as I watched the demon turn into a smokey mist. I held up my right hand and allowed the mark on it to glow. The smoke moved towards it began entering into my body from the glowing mark on the palm of my hand.
When the last trace of the demon's mist was gone, I turned my back to the black bloodstain on the floor and walked back down the stairs and back out into the darkness that was the night - the only source of light being the moon and stars which shone brightly up in the night sky.
I inhaled the sweet scent of fresh night air as I stepped out of the darkened manor. The world silent and resting as I walked along the freshly placed stone path and out towards the abandoned street.
As I passed through the large iron gates that separated the estate's grounds from public property, a sleek black car with tinted windows could be seen parked in front of the manor's front yard
I slowly walked up to it, my heels clicking and echoing throughout as I walked. When I neared the car, the passenger window rolled down to reveal a young man with short white hair and golden colored eyes. He turned to face me with a straight face and then gestured towards the back door. Which then opened to reveal a sleek black leather interior and another young man with white hair, though this one had silver eyes - like mine.
My face remained straight as I slid into the backseat next to the male slayer. I could see the beta pin on his uniform and new he was high ranking. Although I'm not too far behind him, with me being a delta. His eyes met mine and he gave me a small smile before turning his attention back out the window. I followed suit and began watching the city go by as we returned to the manor for the night.
Houses and streets flew by as we moved further into the old part of town, where we slayers lived. I noticed we passed by many of the family houses for those born to slayers. Then, the large castle like manor that was the home to the slayers who became what we are - slayers like me.
The car rolled into the driveway as we pulled up to the large iron gates that separated the manor from the outside world. A guard and the guard station began talking with the driver, but I couldn't make out what was being said. Soon enough, we were moving again as we drove through the gates. The car stopped in front of the steps that led into the manor and both back doors swung open automatically.
The boy glanced over at me and his gaze caught my eye before I moved to climb out of the car and head back inside. I guess he too followed my lead and began following me up the stairs and into the manor. Walking into the foyer, I took a look around, expecting to see a personnel waiting for us, but instead we were completely alone.
Though, that didn't last long as a young male personnel did walk in with a silver tablet. He walked over to the podium that stood at the center of the foyer and looked at the boy and I closely before going back to working on the tablet.
"Delta Asuna Kamiya?" He asked as I glanced up from the tablet to look me in the eyes. His were a golden color and they locked on to mine before I forced myself to lower my gaze.
"Yes Sir?" I asked his as I stepped forward slightly to show him I had heard his question. He looked at his tablet quickly and then back at me before letting out a soft sigh.
"You are dismissed for the night," he said before turning to address the boy who was standing next to me. I gave a quick bow to the statue of the slayer goddess Arisu, and then rushed up the gilded staircase that was to my. I made my way through the white and silver halls as I walked to the common room for the higher ranks. I passed by many tapestries and paintings before reaching the doors. I pushed open the large oak door and as it opened the smell of perfume hit my senses and I saw that half of the room had been taken over by bottles and bags of the stuff.
"Takara!" I cried out in exasperation as I turned to a shorter lady who was wearing a short frilly dress in place of her any of uniforms. She appeared to be rummaging through one of the many bags of beauty products.
"What is with all of this!"
"Oh! It's for makeover day of course!" She squealed out as she continued to look through the bags. A sigh escaped my lips as I turned from the scene before me and instead made my way towards the female dorms. I shook my head at the young female slayer's behavior while walking up the stone tower towards the bridge leading into the high ranking female dormitories.
My heels clicked on the stone floor as I made my way up them. The smell of perfume finally fading from my nose and being replaced by a scent of old hallways and books. A smile crept onto my face as the smell of books hot my nose. I have always liked books and their scent.
As I moved down the hallway, I passed by the library's door, I paused for a moment and was tempted to go inside and enjoy loosing myself in a book, but quickly decided against it.
"I need to get some rest while I can," I thought to myself before turning on my heel and walking away from the library doors. My silver eyes scanned the form numbers looking for the one I shared with two other slayers in my rank.
"2140, 2142, 2142," my thoughts trailed off as I walked down the hallway. I stepped lightly and quietly as to not wake up any sleeping slayers in their rooms. Finally, my dorm number came into my view, 2150.
"Finally, I get to have some rest," I told myself in a voice just above a whisper. I placed my hand on the cool metal doorknob and pulled it open. Silently, I moved towards my small bedroom that is located just off in a room of to the side. When I moved to stepped into the room, the mark on my left hand glowed and I knew that I was being summoned for a job. After I let out another soft sigh, I turned back around and closed the door.
"Spoke too soon I guess."
