If you've seen the most recent Jacknjellify post, Match is actually smart. In one of the comics, she's able to complete a whole sudoku book in 5 seconds, and in Total Firey Island, Match won the spelling bee. But Pencil, she's kinda dumb in BFDI, and in BFB I think she's way too competitive and too focus on her "alliance" and scaring people into her leadership. Pencil is making Match a horrible person, and it shows because in the comics before Match met Pencil, Match was smart, kind (well, she didn't want Firey to kill Spongy) and she cared about the trees!
But now, Match is more mean, and she was trying to become someone she wasn't, because that's what Pencil had influenced on Match to do. That's how Pencil told Match how to be a leader. To be so mean and scary that the rest of the team would just fall into place, causing the rest of her friends to ditch her.It caused Bubble to start worry about apologizing to people. It caused Book and Icy to leave her, and then Book bullying Taco like Pencil and Match bullied her.
In BFB 11, it showed that Match views life differently from Pencil. But in BFB 16, she reverted back to her "old self" because she was back with Pencil! That's why I hate the Matchil ship. Pencil is a very bad influence on Match, and if they were to get any closer than best friends, there will be no hope for Match.
I'd think it would be an interesting story line for Match to break all ties from Pencil, and form new friendships with people like Bracelety and Liy. But I know that's never gonna happen. And I know if that never happens, people aren't going to like Match as much as I do.
So TL;DR: Match is too good for Pencil and Pencil is influencing Match badly, and that Match should just ditch Pencil.
