"How'd it go?" Purple asked, sitting around Nightowl with Early Bird, Catrin, and Luna.
"I need to go to the Vault of Knowledge," Nightowl said distractedly, fidgeting with grass around where she sat. "I gotta start getting information ready for our next meeting. Same time and place,"
"How'd you even get to the temple without getting caught by the Dragons?" Luna asked, trying to catch her glance.
"Shortcut at the landing before the vortex," Nightowl muttered, picking loose strands of grass. She was working out a plan in her mind of where she'd start looking for information on Dark Dragons and the wars that happened back then.
"A shortcut? How do you get in?" Asked Catrin.
"There was a special knock you had to perform to get in. I forgot it," she answered.
Early Bird clapped her hands together a couple times and Nightowl's head snapped up.
"What?" Nightowl said firmly.
"Wake up!" Early Bird said, irritation in her voice. "We're asking how it went, and you're hardly paying attention!"
Nightowl sighed. "I'm sorry. It's just...I've got a lot riding on me. I can't mess this up,"
"It's fine, we're here for you!" Purple said reassuringly.
Catrin nodded. "Did the spirits have a solid plan? Or...?"
Nightowl shook her head. "Not in the slightest. They were debating on whether to fight the Dragons and if they had the materials to do so,"
"That's what I'd do," Catrin nodded. "If only we could,"
"Really?" Purple asked, looking towards her. "I'd ask the Elders to set up barricades to keep the Dragons at bay,"
"I'd use butterfly manipulation!" Early Bird chirped.
They all looked at her silently.
"What? Have the butterflies use their light and disorient the Dragon Leader to get him to do whatever we want!" Early Bird explained matter-of-factly.
"Is that even possible?" Luna asked.
"Do the Dragons even have a leader?" Purple added.
"I dunno! It's a thought," Early Bird muttered.
"That it is..." Catrin mused. She turned to Nightowl. "Would you like some help?"
Nightowl sat there for a moment. "It wouldn't hurt to have some extra hands," she said consideringly.
"I'd love to help you!" Luna chimed. "It'll be so cool!"
"Yeah! You could always use the help!" Catrin beamed.
Nightowl stood, brushing herself off. "Well then, let's not waste time,"
The friends began scanning through the books inside the several lantern-like holders. They were old and aged, so they had to be careful when pulling them out of the lanterns. They were inside the Vault of Knowledge, in a side area that opened up a large square of the floor before covering up again. It was filled with books holders.
"So, we're looking for anything and everything Dark Dragon?" Early Bird clarified, putting a thick book back inside the holder.
"Exactly," Nightowl replied, observing the covers as she peeked inside the lanterns. "Also anything on the old wars back in the day. Any clue that might save our Kingdoms,"
