The Second Warlord: Destroyer

Direct hit. I watched as Ironwoods new corrupted form dropped dead to the ground. Like an earthquake in a city, his men connected to him crumpled into shards of ice. I can feel myself plummeting closer to the ground. Honestly if this is it for me, I wouldn't mind. I'm tired of all this fighting, tired of failed attempt after attempt to escape The Goliaths grasp. I feel the angel grab my arm and fly me down to the ground. Damn... perhaps another day. Everyone slowly came out of hiding and met back up in the center of the block we were in. We lost thirty two people in that ambush. Resistance fighters and some citizens from the first dimension we crossed to. We don't have time to lament. The next warlord and deity will be here soon.

Ozpin(I Awaken AU): Our numbers have thinned Ruby.

Ruby(Resurrection AU): By how much?

Ozpin(I Awaken AU): By a tenth of what we started with.

Ruby(Resurrection AU): Damn... we'll just have to fight ten times as hard.

Ozpin(I Awaken AU): You might need to give the troops a morale push before we continue.

I look past Ozpin at the grieving resistance team. Torn from losing their friends and allies. He's right, I need to keep not just mine, but their spirits raised too.

Ruby(Resurrection AU): May I have everyone's attention please?

They all looked my way. Never really been great with words, but I think I can do this. No, I can do this.

Ruby(Resurrection AU): I know what we're going through is something you'd never expect to have to do in your life. Or ever I suppose. I mean we're standing right next to another version of ourselves from the same yet different world. This road we're traveling down and have been traversing through has been rough. We've lost a lot of good people that mean so much to us. But we can't give up now, and we WON'T give up now! IF WE GIVE UP NOW, THE GOLIATH WINS, IF WE LAY DOWN OUR WEAPONS WE LOSE EVERYTHING WE'VE FOUGHT FOR! LETS SHOW THESE FALSE GODS WHO THEY'RE DEALING WITH! LETS SHOW THEM WERE NOT GOING TO QUIETLY INTO THE NIGHT! WE. WILL. WIN! LETS GIVE THEM HELL!

One by one fist rose to the air. Weapons ready, battle cries roaring, hearts racing to fight, morales at an all time high. Each soldier ready to fight like hell till their last breath.

Cloaked figure(???): Well done on raising their spirits Ruby.

Ruby(Resurrection AU): Thanks, didn't think I had it in me.

Cloaked figure(???): The warlord is nearby and so are the monsters from the last dimension. You must plan for the next attack. Unlike last time, you now have the element of surprise.

Ruby(Resurrection AU): Is there any advice you can give me? You know on how to win? Maybe some of your infinite knowledge on the warlords or monsters?

Cloaked figure(???): Aside from being a main corruptor beacon for each dimension, the warlords were made to prevent infighting amongst their monsters. Since you've slain the warlord of the last dimension those beast have no master and are no more intelligent than wild animals. They will attack anything in their path. I'll leave it at that.

Perfect. I'm going to need to act fast.

Minutes later...
Ruby(Resurrection AU) POV
Location: Beacon(Old Bonds AU)

I had everyone go hide in nearby buildings. If what the hooded figure said is true. When the warlord and the last dimensions monsters show up, which should be any second now. The beast should start fighting each other. Once they've thinned our this dimensions warlords numbers, we'll take our turn to strike.

Grimm Weiss(Goliaths Deity): DESTROYER! WE HAVE A PROBLEM!

I make my way over to Weiss. What the hell?! Why are Nightmares soldiers attacking my golems? I order Weiss to summon a Seer Grimm to contact Goliath.

The Goliath(Y/N Resurrection AU) POV
Location: The Damned Kingdom(Resurrection AU)

I look though the Seer Grimm to be met with a pissed off Destroyer. Good, so the plan is working.

Destroyer(Y/N Alone And Afraid): WHY THE HELL ARE NIGHTMARES SOLDIERS ATTACKING MINE?!

The Goliath(Y/N Resurrection AU): Rose and her little resistance team killed Nightmare in the last dimension. His armies have no commander now. They will attack anything that breathes. If you wish to make it easier on yourself try to lure out Rose and her team. Then you won't have to put all focus into Nightmares army. Now get to work, I have things to do.

The Seer disappeared in a cloud of smoke. Dammit!

Destroyer(Y/N Alone And Afraid): Weiss, go down there and try to lure out Ruby and her friends!

Grimm Weiss(Goliaths Deity): I don't take orders from you. The Goliath values me much more than your sorry ass excuse of a warlord.

Goddamnit. She's really getting on my nerves.

I cut his throat. God I can't stand hearing his damn voice any longer. He fell to his knees, trying to grasp for words. This wasn't going to kill him, but it will get him to shut the hell up for a minute. As I look over the buildings roof I see Ruby has come out of hiding and is killing off the remaining bits of Nightmares army as well as ours. Looks like she's coming up here with the angel.

Ruby(Resurrection AU): Prepare to die!

Grimm Weiss(Goliaths Deity): As much as I'd love to fight with the leader heretic herself, I'm not dying for this worthless fool. I'd rather fight someone more... understanding. Someone who knows what I know.

Ruby(Resurrection AU) POV

She's gone. She created a glacier around herself and just disappeared. No matter. I can worry about her later. Once I kill the warlord I will go after Weiss. What did she mean by someone more understanding?

Cloaked figure(???) POV

I had taken shelter in an alleyway. Not that I couldn't fight, I could kill all of them right now if I wanted to. I can hear metal scraping on the wall behind me.

Grimm Weiss(Goliaths Deity): So you do exist...

Cloaked figure(???): So you're the one who broke into my domain. You've dug too deep. Seen and learned things you were not supposed to find. You know too much for your own good, and now you are a threat to this story's fruition.

Grimm Weiss(Goliaths Deity): Is it true? Is all of their destinies and ours going to end the way I've seen in the writing?

Cloaked figure(???): It is not your place to find that out, not yet... the story, this story still needs to continue.

I warp behind her and gut her with my sword. I can break some rules of the story. I just need to keep it unnoticed, or at least out of sight. Good, the sword hasn't broken, thankfully I'm able to conjure it out of mortals sight. I step out of the alleyway to see Y/N The Archangel and Ruby from the damned dimension flying down from the building. The Godslayers gems are dulled out, she has successfully slain the second warlord. Good, the story is going as planned. Now let's hope the other deities know not of who I am or what is going to happen. Weiss was nothing more than a hiccup. If not I might have to end this story quicker than I planned to...
