Secrets - TMC One-shots

1~Third Person P.O.V~

Alex was making her way to the Arena which was surprisingly empty. 'I wonder what's going on? Class was supposed to start a few minutes ago!', the said girl thought. As if someone read her thoughts, she heard some one or more specifically some people call her name.

"Hey Alex/Queenie", Alex swiveled around to see her combat classmates making there way towards. Said smiled back at them but realized Brendan was absent. Noticing her studying gaze, Kaiden spoke up. "He ended up with some sort of sickness from Varin's class so he can't be here today". Ah, that's why. Can't blame the poor guy, Varin's class always has a high chance of getting infected with something so Alex nodded in understanding. 

"If you're done you little catch up session, start stretching", Karter's gruff voice resonated through the Arena as his and Zain's bulky figures entered the Arena. Not wanting to face Karter's wrath, the five got down and did five minutes of stretching before Karter started talking again. "I'm sure you are all aware of the reason why Labinsky is absent and since that give us an odd number, I decided to be nice to you five and show some mercy". Karter being nice and giving mercy is the complete opposite of what he means so the five students exchanged worried glances. "Anyway, today I'll be choosing who will be partnering up!", Karter declared with a smirk, liking his students nervous reactions. "James and Gibbs, Baxter and Stirling and finally Jennings with.....", Karter gave a pause. "Zain". 

Pin-drop silence took over the Arena leaving a gaping Alex. Said girl took a deep breath, purposely activating her meyarin senses and looked accusingly at Zain who gave her a sly smirk to which Alex's eye was twitching. "Well what are you waiting for? An invitation? GO", their teacher shouted the last part to get them moving. Alex stood in front of Zain and took a stance, sword at the ready with Zain mirroring her own position. 

As if an invisible GO! had been shouted, they both sped towards each other at meyarin speed and soon fell in a familiar dance of swords. 

Parry, thrust, dodge, block.

Lunge, Block, Swipe Retreat.

When he lunged, I parried, when he thrust, I dodged and this went on a few minutes. Both fighting in blurs to the human eye however both our had meyarin senses had tapped on and the speed of our attacks increased until we had to jump back to create distance to catch our breath. 

All the boys has stopped, even Karter to see their only female classmate and Co-teacher fighting each other in blurs. Once again, both parties sped towards each other are incredible speed, kicking up dust and the ringing of metal clashing once again resonated in Arena. This went on for another few minutes and the dust cleared to show Zain with sword at an unarmed Alex's throat. They thought fight was over for good but Alex had a few tricks up her sleeve. 

"Do you yield?", Zain asked, not even tired but Alex smirked. 

"No", she said as she summoned A'enara and pushed his sword away and once again started to go on offence with Zain easily blocking them with no effort. This again went on for a few more minutes when Alex's speed gradually slowed down a bit to which Zain took advantage to go on offence with the Said girl falling into defense. Having trouble blocking Zain's powerful blows, Alex used his momentum against him and moved out of the way swiping her leg under his which had him fall on the floor with his sword clattering on the Arena floor. Alex brought her sword up to his neck and the Arena fell into stunned silence. "Do... you... yield?", she asked him, panting to which he grinned and nodded. Slowly standing up, her body still stiff as if expecting something but relaxed when Zain sheathed his sword.

Alex turned around to her wide-eyed stunned classmates. But before she could answer, she felt the air whooshing ear her ear and leaned her body to the side and caught Zain's fisted hand in her own and kicked her foot backwards to make Zain lose his balance and willed her screaming muscles to move as she vaulted him over her shoulder. Zain landed with and 'oof' as the air was winded out of his lungs while Alex bent over and massaged her painfully tired tight muscles and muttered a 'should've known that you'd do that'. She held out a hand to Zain as he gladly allowed her to lift him up with a strong pull. 

"I'm guessing it was your idea to do this 'spar' in the first place. Am I right Zain?", Alex asked Zain with air quotes while raising both her eyebrows and getting a sheepish smile from Zain. "Why am I not surprised?", the Said girl commented rolling her eyes. A loud clearing of a throat made them both turn around to see wide-eyed classmates, all with the exception of Kaiden and Declan. 

"Wow! Just WOW! Queenie.... We didn't know you could fight like that", Nick said breathless with Sebastian nodding along. 

Zain cleared his throat and patted Alex's back which rattled her bones on the inside and said something that had her smile. "You did good Little Human, it's hard to beat our kind". 

"Thanks Zain", Alex said. "And how many times do I have to tell you that the name is Alex", the Said girl gritted out. 

"Sorry, but someone's gotta keep you in your place", he said not at all feeling sorry while Alex huffed. 

"Uhhh.... Did he just call you Little Human and what did he mean by his kind?", Sebastian asked. When they all heard this, Alex spluttered while Kaiden, Karter and Zain paled. Seeing their reactions, Sebastian asked what was wrong and looked confused. 

"Ahaha... W-well you s-see, it's just a-", Alex stuttered and Zain cut her off. 

"Nickname", he answered. 

"Y-yeah, a nickname", Alex said giving a nervous smile and spared a glance at Zain and muttered a 'a nickname, seriously Zain?' too low for the others to hear but loud and clear to Zain much to his displeasure. Zain's brow visibly twitched and replied, 'I didn't see you coming up with anything better' in the same low tone back to Alex who shut her mouth after hearing this.  

"I don't believe you, you're obviously hiding something", Nick said along with a nodding Sebastian who narrowed his eyes. 

"Well to bad, class is over now get going", Karter grounded out but the boys didn't budge and instead shook their heads in a 'NO' gesture. It takes guts to stand up to Karter and these guys have guts. Seeing no way out of this after receiving their intense stares, Alex sighed and made eye contact with both Zain and Karter who gave a curt nod to trust them.  

"Well...... How do I start?", Alex thought aloud, not knowing how to let out her most secret of secrets. 

"You could always start by how fast you fought with Zain considering all we saw was a blue of you two", Declan suggested.

"Ok... Well I'm half meyarin and Zain here, is a full meyarin by blood", Alex admitted slowly, dropping the bombshell. "Surprise", she said in a quite voice. Nick and Sebastian choked on their spit leaving a smirking Karter and a snickering Zain. 

Today was certainly going to an interesting day.....

Hi guys, I hope you guys like this chapter. Lock-down gives me quite a bit of free-time so I'll probably updating quite regularly depending on my mood and time. Thanks for taking the time to read this story.
