*Summer POV*

"No chance, no way. I won't say it no no. It's too cliche, I won't say I'm in love." Maya sang.

"Look who's gonna be the next Taylor Swift." I teased as I walked into her room.

"As if. Why are you even in here?" she asked.

"I followed the angelic voice." I grinned.

"I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or serious..." she said.

"I'm serious, Maya, you're a great singer. What are you doing, anyway?" I asked.

"I'm practicing for the talent show." she smiled.

"The city's throwing a talent show?" I asked.

"Nope. Me and Greg are." she blushed.

"OoO... Maya's got a boyfriend." I teased.

"If Greg Heffley is my boyfriend, then Rodrick is yours." she said. I blushed a little.

"Well... Looks like Rodrick's my boyfriend." I laughed.

"Okay, Mrs. Summer Heffley, looks like I'll be your bridesmaid. Or maybe I can be your maid-of-honor." she joked.

"Fine. If Rodrick and I ever get marriedwhich we won'tyou can be the flower girl." I smiled as I pat her on the head.

"Fine. And if me and Greg ever get married, you can sing 'Love Story' at our wedding." she said.

"I think I'll stick to bridesmaid." I smiled.

"Summer!" Jazz yelled.

"Huh?" I asked.

"Wake up. Your stalker's here." she said.

"Stalker..? Rodrick!" I said. I rushed out of bed to get ready for the day, since I looked crustier than the boogers in my eyes. (A/N: ew) I quickly got ready and threw on the first clothes I found.

"Hey, Princess." he smiled. I rolled my eyes.

"Hey, Rockstar." I said as I walked downstairs.

"What'd you come over for?" I asked.

"What, I can't just come see my best friend?" he asked innocently. I raised an eyebrow.

"Okay, I kinda wanted to go somewhere with you." he admitted.

"Well, where do you wanna go?" I asked.

"How 'bout the beach?" he suggested.

"Sure, that sounds fun. Lemme go get my stuff." I replied. I planted a soft kiss on his cheek and went upstairs.

I went upstairs to pack a small bag. I packed sunscreen, a change of clothes, my phone, and a few snacks that I had just hidden in my room. I put my bikini on under the clothes I was wearing, so that I wouldn't have to worry about it later. But then I remembered the dream I had. About Maya. It was a memory from June 2009; the summer before Maya went to 5th grade. Her and Greg wanted to throw a talent show for his birthday. Maya only agreed to do it because she really liked him, but she actually had a little stage fright.

"Where do you think you're going?" Jazz asked as she walked into my room.

"What do you care?" I asked in response.
