my parents came back home.

we spent the next few days going out and having dinner as a family.

i didn't suspect much.

until today,

my parents let me know that they were divorcing.

i didn't understand why but everyone has their reasons.

they'd remain as friends and i'd live with my mom.

everything was moving so fast.

so at night i snuck out and went to the nearby park.

i sat on the edge of the grass, in front of the lake.

trying to process everything going on.

yes it might seem minimal but my heart was racing,

i had a weird surge of adrenaline in me.

honestly i just needed to be calmed down.

i texted jenna because she was the only person i could confide in.

i buried my head in my knees and must've fell asleep in that position.

then i felt a tap on my shoulder.
i jumped because i had forgotten i texted jenna.

j) hey dumbass what's wrong
she said as she giggled

y/n) you scared me, but anyways my parents are divorcing.

her smile quickly faded and she immediately gave me a hug.

j) i'm so sorry
y/n) no it's okay. can i stay at your place for a few hours?
j) of course

we walked home to her place and i just vented to her and she vented to me.

to be honest it was much needed.

i was confused about it all.

their relationship seemed so perfect but it might just be the fact that parents know how to act like nothing is going on.

fast forward 4 hours later, jenna helped me sneak out her house.

i snuck back into my room and went straight back to bed since it was almost 6am.

i woke up to my mom on my bedside.

y/m) are you okay? i'm really sorry about us delaying the announcement and it being so sudden.
we can go out for breakfast and you can ask me anything.

she gave me hug and left my room quietly.

we just arrived at the restaurant.
