After that nightmare, you were very skittish. You stayed around A.E. and Magnus, and made sure they both stayed together that way you could keep an eye on them both.
"Are you ok?" A.E. asked, looking at you.
"Yeah." You answered, looking back at Magnus.
"Uh huh. What happened?" A.E. asked.
You sighed and grabbed her wrist, walking away from the rest of the group. Everyone was in the woods beside your house, waiting for nighttime.
After you were out of earshot of the rest of the group, you told A.E. everything. The cube, the dying, the nightmare.
"You're paranoid." A.E. concluded.
"How do you even know what that means?" You asked.
"Back in my day-"
"I was still alive in your day-"
"Let me finish," A.E. stated. "Back in my day, once I figured out about sacrifice and death and destruction and all that, I didn't leave my room. Well, most of the time I couldn't, but that's not the point."
"Wait, why couldn't you leave your room?" You asked. You knew next to nothing on what happened to A.E.'s family.
"In mental hospitals, they have a wing specifically for who they call the "Jokers and Harleys". I, was a Harley." A.E. explained. "But that's not the point. You have to learn to shut off your emotions. Don't care who dies, keep yourself in the moment."
"How do I not care about it?" You exclaimed, throwing your hands up in the air.
"I dunno, it comes naturally." A.E. said. She rolled her shoulder a bit. You had almost forgot about her injury.
"How do you know this?" You asked suspiciously.
"Ah, umm..." A.E. fiddled with her thumbs and looked away.
"Y/N! A.E.!" You both looked over to see Magnus and TJ running towards you.
"It's 5:30, the sun sets at 6." Magnus said, looking at you.
"Well, let's get going!" You said trying to sound enthusiastic.
"Remember guys, got your six." A.E. said as her and TJ ran off ahead of them.

"Wow! You've updated twice in a row!"
I know, I know. I'm really bad at story lines, hehe.
This was a filler chapter, I'll get the rest out either today or tomorrow.
Also, after I re-read that last chapter I started laughing evilly.
