They ran out the doors into the hotel, and ran to Calum's severely wrecked car. He drove her to his house, where they would hopefully be safe. Cal and Mac spring up out of the car, and rush to the door, opening it, and running up the stairs to Calum's room.
"Calum," Mac whispers as Cal locked the door to his room. "are we gonna be okay?"
"I sure hope so" Calum responds as a loud crash comes from the kitchen. "what was that?" He asks, putting his ear up to the door, trying to hear anything else that followed the sound.
"It sounded like your mum dropping a pan in the kitchen." Mac whispered.
"My mum isn't home." he explains. "I'm gonna see what it was, stay here!" He yells quietly, unlocking the door.
"Cal, please don't" Mac whispers, grabbing his arm.
He pulls away, ripping his arm out of her sweaty, nervous hands. He walks down stairs, as Mackenzie quietly follows behind. She made a small sound, loud enough that Calum could've heard it.
"Mac," he screamed. "go back to my bedroom!"
As he said that, Luke came behind him, holding a gun. He pointed the gun at Calum, getting ready to pull the trigger.
"Cal turn aro-"
"No, not until you go up stairs!" he yells.
"Luke is beh-"
"Go!" he yells, as she turns around, feeling Calum's eyes on her back. As soon as she got one foot into his bedroom, she heard the trigger go off, and she knew Luke was behind it all.
She wondered downstairs noticing a puddle of blood where Calum had stood before. She walked two steps more, and saw his dead body. Automatically, tears started running from her eyes.
"Mac," Calum yells. "Mac, wake up. You okay?"
"Huh, yeah, I'm fine, I think." she says, noticing she was still in the hotel room she had been in all night. It was just a nightmare. She couldn't bare to be separated from Calum or more than a day. She was obsessed with him. He was like her drug. She couldn't get enough of him. She couldn't get over the feeling in her stomach about what had happened.
"Mac, your sure your okay?" Cal asks again, picking her up, and placing her in his lap.
"Yeah, I'm fine"
"Then why are you shaking?" He asks, rubbing his hands up and down her back, making her feel more comfortable.
"Just a nightmare."
"Oh, do you want to talk about it?"
"No, I don't" she says, getting to her feet, and walking into the bathroom. "shit" she yells looking at the mess her hair is. There was a slight pause between them.
"Mac," Cal said, breaking the silence. "can I take you somewhere?"
"Yeah, whatever, it depends on where." She said, paying more attention to her hair, than him.
"That's a secret. I need a yes or a no." he demands, putting his alcohol smelling jacket on.
"Ugh, yeah, sure" she says, turning the bathroom light off. Calum grabs her hand and drags her to his car, where they got in, and started driving.
✖️MACS POV✖️
I didn't know where he was taking me, but I hoped it wouldn't we too long before we got there. I really had to pee, and I didn't really want to tell Cal.
It was about a hour drive, but it was worth the drive for where he took me.
"This is it" Cal yelled, waking me up from my car ride nap. I opened my eyes, and picked up my head, and an old cabin came into view. As Calum quickly put the car into park, he ran to the door, waving for me to come. I opened the bent car door, and ran to the door, where Calum was standing, slowly opening the door, and going inside, leading me into what looked like the kitchen. It had an old wood stove, and an old table with a few chairs.
"Who's house is this?" I ask, as Calum walks to the stairs. I follow him, and ask him the question again.
"It used to be my grandfathers house, until he died of cancer, and it just sat here since then. I took you here because all my greatest memories happened here, and I wanted to add more to that collection.". He said, as I suddenly felt insecure. Calum goes into a room with blue walls, and a bed with ripped green sheets on it.
"This used to be my bedroom" Cal explained, pointing to the walls, showing her his name he engraved in them when he was littler.
"This is really cool Calum, but I'm really tired!" I said, walking to the stairs, and gradually going down them, followed by Calum. The sounds if the steps creaking made me feel as though I was to fall straight through the flooring.
"Okay, we can sleep in the car, I'm not driving all that way, especially when it's about to be dark."
"Wait, what?" I screeched. "Your afraid to drive when it's dark?? Haha your scared of the dark or something??"
"No, it's just I don't feel comfortable driving in the dark with you. If anything were to happen to you, I wouldn't know what to do.". He explains, leading me to his car, grabbing blankets and a few pillows from the trunk of his car, to the side door. "You can have the back"
"Alright, thanks". I said, getting in the back seat. Calum threw a really thick blanket over me, and tossed me a pillow, then shut the door, and walked to the drivers door, and doing the same thing.
"No problem, babe" he said, laying himself down, facing the opposite direction, so I couldn't see his face.
"Calum?" I ask, making him toss around so he could see me. "what did you mean earlier, when you said 'all my greatest memories happened here, and I wanted to add more to the collection'?"
"Well, I wanted to, well, you know, I wanted to"
"Not that again.". I said, burying my head into the pillow, and covering my legs with the blanket.
"Not what again?" He asked, crawling his way to where I was laying, joining me in trying to fall asleep.
"I don't know, Calum". I whispered. "go to sleep"
"Alright, goodnight babe" he said, as I did the same, and pressed up against him, feeling the warmth of his body warm me up.
In the morning, Calum took me into the city about a half an hour away from his Grandfathers old cabin, to get breakfast.
"Where ya wanna go for breakfast?" He asks, as I wipe my eyes, getting all the access watery stuff out of them.
"I dunno, anywheres fine with me." I said, noticing myself still in the back of his car, half asleep still. "did you even sleep last night at all?"
"Yeah, course I did" he proclaims, putting the car in park, in the lot of "The Waffle House". He got out, and helped my tired, limp body into the restaurant of waffles. I had to admit that I loved having breakfast somewhere with Calum, and no one else, but I also had to admit I wasn't a big fan of waffles. I didn't want to tell him, since he had already ordered and payed.
"Why aren't you eating Mac?" He asked.
"I'm just not hungry" I respond, hoping he wouldn't discover that I didn't like waffles.
"Are you okay?" He asked again.
"I just said, I'm not hungry"
"Yeah, okay" he giggled, knowing something was up. I looked out the window, as the speakers in the restaurant started playing 'sex' by the 1975. I smiled and turned around to him, as he smiled back, and automatically I knew what he was thinking. He wanted something from me, but I wasn't gonna give it to him until I know when I should.
"Calum, why are you staring at me like that?" I laughed. "you perverted little bastard, no. No, I know what your thinking."
"Well, you were smiling too" he said, giggling at himself.
"Yeah, I was laughing because I thought of something worth laughing about."
"Haha, Mackenzie. Very funny, I admit to what your saying. You read my mind."
"I knew it. Calum, maybe later" I said, as Calum's smile grew a bit bigger.
"How about now?" He adds, picking his leftovers up, and throwing them away, dragging me with him. He took me to the car, and helped me in. he got in and started driving to the old cabin we had spent the night at last night.
"Calum, no, just, no." I yelled, making him frown in a dorkish kind of way. His bottom lip was curled outward, over his top lip. The car's speed gradually went down until he was parked in front if the old cabin that he once lived in. He got out of the car, walking into the house, not even bothering to help me out. I followed him, and sat on the couch next to him, comforting him in a way that calmed him down. He pulled me into his lap, which then later turned into a kiss, lasting for a few seconds, until a huge crash sound came from outside.
"What in hell was that?" I ask, getting off of Calum, so he could go see what made the weird crashing noise.
"I don't know" he said, opening the door, and slowly walking out, noticing that there was another car next to his, that looked similar to Luke's car. "that's Luke's truck." he yelled at me, making me walk out to where he was.
"Oh jeez, this is just like what happened in my nightmare.". I said, suddenly feeling chills running down my arms. I move closer to Calum, resting my head in his chest, as a large bang comes from the kitchenette room in the house. "fuck"A/N
