Scene 9 : Scandal

Meanwhile, in the city.

"Breaking news! A video with nude and explicit content has surfaced involving the hot young actor and singer, Krist Perawat! Together in the video is the starlet named Georgia whose, according to our source, Krist's rumoured girlfriend.", the showbiz news reporter on the TV announced intensely.

P'Tae and P'Jane who are currently having a meeting, planning about what to do in the situation, were both shocked at the headlines.

"Oh my god! That slut really did it! What a desperate human being!", P'Jane exclaimed, feeling frustrated.

P'Tae was astonished as well and could not utter a word. They both watched the news intently, wanting to hear what the woman is going to say.

"Let's find out more about the story behind the said video from the lady herself who is now holding a press interview.", he continued, the scene faded and switched to Georgia's scene where she is in front of the press.

A number of microphones from different media outlets are placed on the table where she was situated.

In the interview, Georgia can be seen crying as she 'testified' against Krist's mistreatment towards her.

"Actually, we were not really dating.", she began, her eyes are red and her voice is cracking as if she was scared and hesitant to speak.

"What do you mean? Can you tell us more about the nature of your relationship?", a voice behind the camera asked.

"I-.. I was one of his fans.. He befriended me. I thought he was sincere. I looked up to him since he is one of the famous actors who everybody admires. As a newbie in the industry, I turn to him for advise. But..", she pauses as if she's having a hard time to tell what happened.

"He.. He took advantage of me.", she said then began sobbing as she lowered her head, seemingly ashamed of herself.

A flood of flashes from the cameras followed and the murmuring of the press amongst themselves became loud.

"How did he take advantage of you?", one of the media men asked again.

Georgia looked back towards the cameras again, taking a deep breath, seemingly composing herself, wiping her tears away with a white handkerchief she's been holding.

"A-as you can see in the video.. We spent a night together.. But now he is hiding from me. He doesn't want to take responsibility for what he have done. How am I going to face my family in this situation?", she pauses again, acting choked up with emotions.

"I didn't speak about it since I know how popular and powerful he is. Who would believe me? I-... I'm just a nobody.", she said as she began crying again.

"Do you mean, you didn't like him back?", one of the media men asked.

Georgia composes herself, as she prepares to answer the question.

"Honestly.. I did. That's why 'it' happened. But.. He doesn't treat me as a girlfriend. He thinks so little of me. So no matter how much I love him.. I can only handle this much.", she explained, acting pitiful.

"Argh! For crying out loud! Krist would never do that! That idiot isn't even capable of showing his own feelings to someone he really loves for a long time!", P'Tae exclaimed in front of the TV as if the people in the television could hear her, wanting to throw something at the pretentious woman.

"Eh? How so?", P'Jane asked his bestfriend.

P'Tae was taken aback for a moment, looking at her friend awkwardly.

"Nevermind.", she dismissed the topic, leaning herself on the swivel chair, massaging her temple.

"You and your talent hides too many secrets. I can't help you if you aren't telling me the whole story.", P'Jane looked at his friend, shaking his head.

"Krist isn't attracted to anybody but one. That's all I can say. It's for Krist to tell who.", P'Tae explained.

P'Jane just nodded and shrugged.

"Okay.", he agreed.

"What do we do now? This is a huge blow for all of us.", he stated.

"Krist and Singto are probably in the rest house now. Let's wait for Krist's next move. He said he would call me when they are settled.", P'Tae replied.

As much as she wanted to take care of everything, Krist insisted to let him handle the situation. He just asked to take away Singto and insure his safety.

"Now I understand why Krist was adamant to hide Singto away. Singto will not take this lightly. Even moreso, he will not let anyone destroy Krist.", P'Jane uttered as if thinking out loud.

His chin rested on his palm, staring blankly into the television.

P'Tae looked at P'Jane with curiosity.

"What do you mean?", she asked.

P'Jane looked back at P'Tae, his mouth opened but couldn't say anything further. Realizing he said something he shouldn't have uttered, he avoided P'Tae's gaze.

"Ooo! I just remembered I brought something for you. Try these! It's delicious.", he exclaimed as he took out a bag of chips from his side drawers.

P'Tae rolled her eyes as she gets that P'Jane is trying to distract her.

"Whatever! Is that a drawer? Or a food storage? You never seem to ran out of snacks from there.", she uttered, playing along with her friend.

P'Jane chuckled as he handed the snack to his friend. Both went silent as they gaze on the blank space, munching on the seaweed snack.

"Is it possible that Singto likes Krist too?", P'Tae mumbled.

"Krist.. I hope you're doing the right thing..", she thought to herself, worrying about the two young lads.
