M-21 had never thought himself an indecisive person; yet, a month had passed since his dream, and he had done nothing. He wasn't even sure what exactly he wanted to do. But, he had to do do something otherwise nothing was going to change.

However, it wasn't so easy to talk to Frankenstein; particularly, after telling him their night together was a mistake. He had denied Frankenstein's feelings, so what gave him the right to say, "I liked you." In fact, he had liked Frankenstein since a long time ago. 'Why did I deny it at that time?' M-21 thought as he sighed.

M-21 stepped out of his room yawning. Dark circles hang around his eyes, giving the wolf a cold and irritable feeling. He had dreamt of Frankenstein many times after that night, and it was only getting worse. Now, M-21 dreaded the night where he would have to face his love - only to wake up to a cold, empty room.

"M-21," a voice called out to him, one he was all too familiar with. M-21 breath hitched, as his head turned.

"You've seemed tired lately, are you alright?" Frankenstein worried gazed centred on the dark shadows under M-21's eyes.

M-21 collected himself before nonchalantly replied, "I'm fine, I've just been having trouble sleeping as of late."

Frankenstein was quiet for a moment, "M-21... is something bothering you?"

M-21 avoided his eyes and replied, "It's nothing, just a few bad dreams." M-21 felt his ears grow hot as he said this. He didn't dare look at Frankenstein anymore; so he concentrated on making himself a cup of coffee.

Frankenstein watched Frankenstein fumble about, and a warm smile spread on his lips. He walked up to M-21 who had finally managed to make himself a cup before extending his mug: M-21 froze.

Frankenstein gazed at his frozen figure with fondness. M-21 eyes wavered at the sight of his smile, and the image of the Frankenstein from his dream overlapped with the one in front of him.

"Can I have a cup?" This question woke M-21 from his reverie. He looked again, and the fondness and indulgence had disappeared as if they were never there. A realization had dawned on him,

Frankenstein may not love him anymore. It terrified him.

"Sure... " M-21 barely got this word out.

M-21 took the mug and poured out a cup of coffee. However, more of the coffee landed on the counter than in the cup - his hands were shaking. Frankenstein turned to look at the mess in his kitchen, and his lips twitched. He grabbed the mug and uttered a short word of thanks. How someone could make a mess pouring a cup of coffee was beyond him; however, he let it go. M-21 was obviously not in the right state of mind. He sighed and gave the despondent M-21 one more glance before turning away. Suddenly Frankenstein stopped, M-21 had grabbed his arm. The heat from the palm around his wrist travelled up his arm, sending shockwaves throughout his body. M-21 looked at Frankenstein who had his back to him and felt discouraged, 'he won't even look at me now, huh' he thought. Unaware of his thoughts, Frankenstein mind was a mess. He almost couldn't control himself as he felt the warmth tickling his skin.

Finally, M-21 let go and softly asked, "Can we talk-"

After waiting for a while and not hearing anything else, Frankenstein took a deep breath and turned, "Go on."

M-21 felt relief wash over him, "Not here, at the cafe,"

Frankenstein's eyes turned cold. M-21 gulped; he could barely think under that icy stare, but, he continued, "please... there is something I want to discuss, it's important."

Frankenstein looked at M-21 deeply; then, he walked past him. M-21 eyes stared at the spot before him lost, it looked like he was too late.

"Are you coming," M-21 head snapped back to see Frankenstein draping his coat over his shoulders with a look of impatience.

"Yes!" M-21 hurried towards Frankenstein and grabbed his own coat.

"After you," Frankenstein said as he held the door, M-21 wanted to say thanks, but Frankenstein's forced him to push the words back down. Instead, he nodded, and they both headed out.

On the walk to the cafe, neither said a word and tension filled the air. When they arrived; surprisingly, the only seat available was the one where they had sat when M-21 rejected Frankenstein. M-21 noticed Frankenstein mood getting darker by the minute; Frankenstein didn't even bother to acknowledge the waitress that came up to get their orders. He just sat there with his legs crossed and a frozen countenance. M-21 hurriedly order two coffees and sent the waitress away. He knew if he didn't hurry up Frankenstein might just up, and leave.

The first one to break the silence was Frankenstein, "So what did you want to talk about?"

M-21 shuddered at his tone, but still mustered up some courage and looked him straight in the eye, "Frankenstein, I'm not good with words, as you probably realized - the last time we were here. I owe you a lot for all the guidance and care I've received. I could never hope to repay all you've done for me-"

Frankenstein mood suddenly plummeted, and M-21 could see strands of dark energy leaking from Frankenstein. With a sneer, he interrupted M-21, "So what, you agree to be my partner out of some misplaced obligation, or pity?"

Frankenstein stood up and looked down at M-21 with a fierce glare, "I don't know if you thought I would find this insult flattering, but if that is all this conversation is leading up to then, I'll take my leave now."

"Wait- " M-21 hurriedly called out as he quickly took out his wallet to pay for the coffee, and followed. M-21 caught up quickly and reached out to grab Frankenstein, but for the first time, Frankenstein avoided him. M-21 looked up in dismay only to see Frankenstein move further and further away.

After attempting several times to call out to him with no response, M-21 snapped. The next second, the duo was missing from their previous spot. In the spot where M-21 stood, a small crack could be seen on the sidewalk.

Frankenstein was pressed against a wall in a secluded alley. M-21 stared down the man who was glaring at him with anger. Then, he kissed him. This kiss was short but filled with warmth. Frankenstein felt warm lips gently brush against his own for a moment. Frankenstein's eyes went wide with shock before they narrowed again. Before Frankenstein could have another outburst, M-21 covered his mouth with both hands.

"Listen to me for a second!" M-21 growled in frustration his fang glistening menacingly. "I won't kiss someone out of obligation and even less out of pity! I'm trying to say I like you, I did that night, and I do now!" M-21 exclaimed in an embarrassed rage.

"You might not remember, but the first night at that cafe I kissed you first, what happened after was like a dream for me. I called you to that cafe because I wanted you to remember that I was the one who made the first move. Still, I know I was also the one who run first."

"Why-" Frankenstein's voice sounded husky filled with suppressed emotions and confusion.

"Because I was intimidated."

"What-"

"Think about it, you are so much. You are a centuries-old genius with skills, talent and strength I could never hope to match. I... I felt like a child trying desperately to hold onto something that would forever be out of my reach; so I run from the fire before I got burned." M-21 continued, "It was cowardly, and I don't expect you to forgive me, much less return my affection. Still, I wanted to at least tell you why and apologize in a place I hoped was special to the both of us."

M-21's eyes were misty, "Frankenstein, I'm so-"

Frankenstein had captured his lips and blocked his words. He spun them around now M-21 was pressed against the wall and could barely move. He felt Frankenstein's tongue invade his mouth.

This kiss was domineering seeming to want to suck him dry. As their tongues danced, M-21 was soon out of breath, and his whole body went limp within Frankenstein grasp. Frankenstein finally released the limp M-21 but circled one arm around his waist to support him.
