"NIA!!!" I heard my name be called. I didn't stop running, the adrenaline coursing through my body. I panicked when I heard footsteps behind me. I started to climb the nearest tree, but a branch I grabbed snapped and fell down. I immediately got up and started to run again, but I got tackled. "Nia, calm down! It's just me!" I looked up and saw a familiar face and sighed in relief. "Angie. How did you find me?" Angie chuckles, "Well, you're not very quiet. And you were running as though you didn't care how obvious it was to hear and see you." We both giggled as she got up. I was about to ask her where the others were, when suddenly we heard footsteps. Heavy, but quick. And it was headed right for us! Angie and I bolted, running as fast as we possibly could. I'm usually slower than her, but that didn't stop me from going faster than ever. After a while we ducked into some bushes and tried to slow our breathing as someone sprinted by us. "Nia," Angie whispers, still breathing heavily, "What's going on?" I shook my head, signaling that I didn't know.
After what felt like forever, I decided to check our surroundings. My eyes widened in shock and horror when I turned around. "Angie...?" I managed to croak. "Yeah? What is it?" She asked, a little confused. "Look." Is all I could say as she turned around to see what I was so frightened of. She put her hand over her mouth and whimpered. Behind us this whole time was our truck, but it was splattered in blood. I grabbed the keys from my pocket and fumbled with them until I found the right key. Before I slid the key into the lock, however, Angie grabbed my wrist. "Angie? What're you doing?" I asked, confused. She didn't answer as she slowly grabbed something from her coat pocket...
