Loba x Reader

It had been a while since me and the other legends found the last piece of the relic for Loba. I was glad to help until certain events took place. Ever since then, some of the legends have been acting differently. 

Wattson doesn't seem to like Crypto or Caustic anymore. She gets all snippy with them on the battlefield now. It was strange because she normally liked the two.

But that wasn't the only change.

"This seems like a good place to land." I say, pointing to The Geyser. I couldn't help but notice a few changes to World's Edge. Was that rocket always there? I look over to my teammates, Loba and Revenant, to see what they thought.

"I'm good to go." Loba says.

"Whatever." Revenant replies.

We drop at The Geyser and begin looting. Now, I already knew Revenant and Loba would argue throughout the match, but I didn't expect such a change in Revenant's banter specifically.

Revenant seemed almost protective of Loba. Anytime she almost died he'd get extra aggressive. He killed multiple teams on his own and stuck by Loba's side. I also remember overhearing him threaten Caustic about her. Though, I didn't hear the whole thing.

At least Loba hasn't changed to much. She was still snappy at the simulacrum, even if he was trying to protect her.

Which begs the question of why he was trying to protect her in the first place.

I liked Loba. Hell, I crushed on her as soon as I saw her. She's gorgeous! Not to mention her attitude and charisma. Not many legends knew I liked Loba. I told Ajay and Makoa, but that was it. As far as I knew, nobody else had a crush on her, but now...

No. There was no way in Hell. Right?

"You don't get to die before me." Revenant says as he's reviving Loba. We'd just taken out another squad. They were dropping fast, so we had a little extra time to loot around. 

As Loba entered a building, I offhandedly attempted to grab Revenant's attention. I wasn't as fearful of him as the other legends. I knew he wouldn't try anything in the middle of a match.

"Sooo, you'er pretty protective of Loba today."

"And? You got a problem with that?" Revenant says.

"No, no, no, I was just y'know curious." I say in a desperate attempt to defend myself. 

Revenant cocks his head to the side like a dog. However, unlike a dog, it wasn't cute. It was actually pretty threatening. He then starts to walks towards me. I back up as he gets closer.

"Last I checked, you weren't one to get in on people's personal business." Revenant leans into my face as close as he can. "What up with you?"

"Nothing." I back myself into a rock and am left with no escape. Revenant growls.

Beofre he could say anything else, Revenant was suddenly cut off by Loba. 

"Back away from her demonio. There are two squads left." She say bluntly. Revenant made a sound equivalent to a huff before backing away from me. Loba began to walk off. I could only stare at her figure as she walked.

"Oh I see now." Revenant sounded almost amused. I break out of my trance to question him.

"See what?" I ask.

"You like her, don't you?" Revenant leaned to the side. Why'd he always have to be so creepy about everything?

I did a poor job at defending myself. My cheeks flared up and a began to stutter so much I couldn't even talk.  

"N-no! I-I-I don't!"

Revenant laughs as I go quiet and look at the ground.

"Now see, this makes a lot of sense."

"What do you mean?" I ask.

"The way you stare at her. How you try and get close to her during fights. You're eyes say it all." 

He was right. I guess it wasn't to hard to figure out if you kept a close eye on me. I'd done a poor ass job of keeping the secret it seems.

"What makes you think she'd ever go out with a brat like you?" Revenant pokes me with his bladed finger.

"I..."

Gunfire. In the midst of our conversation we'd left Loba by herself. Fuck.

Revenant and I rush to Loba as she's getting pined between the last two teams. She ducked behind a large rock as her only way of cover.

I rushed to her side as Revenant provides cover fire. Funny how he was staying so distant now that he knows about my crush. Asshole.

"Are you hurt?" I ask Loba worriedly.

"Yes." Loba grimaces as she holds onto her leg."

"Here." I immediately begin to administer a medkit for her.

"I'm getting shot at over here!" Revenant yells.

Loba and I rush in to fight off the remaining two squads.

After a long battle. We won. Me, Revenant, and Loba were made the champions.

As the three of us walked back to the dropship, Loba in front and me and Revenant following farther behind, I stared at Loba again. Her confident strides seemed to hypnotize me. I here a chuckle by my ear.

"You're so love struck." Revenant laughs again.

Keeping me voice down I reply," Yeah, well what about you?"

"I don't know what your talking about." Revenant seemed to role his eyes.

"I've seen the way you've protected her all match."

"You think I like her? Bah! She can rote in Hell for all I care! Just not before me."

I still didn't know what that meant, but I was more than relived to know that my previous theory was untrue.

"Even so, how do you still think you have a chance with her? This ones your just gonna have to get over little girl because there's no way in Hell that-"

I didn't bother to listen to the rest of Revenant's insult. I stomp of and run right up to Loba. She turns as she hears my footsteps.

"Loba." I say catching my breath.

"Slow down, (Y/n). The game is over." Loba says.

"Heh, I know, but there's something I wanted to ask you."

"Oh? What is it?"

I tap my foot in the ground nervously. I intertwine my fingers as I let out a deep breath, preparing myself for whatever her answer would be.

"I was just wondering if you like to grab a drink with me sometime. Y'know, like a date sorta thing."

Loba didn't respond straight away. But as I kept my eyes closed waiting for her response I heard a happy sort of chuckle escape her mouth.

"I would like that (Y/n). I really would."

"Really?"

"Of course. I wouldn't go out with just anyone."

Loba and I walked off together, but not before I turned around and gave the bird to Revenant.
