The house echoed with several telephone rings. Harshwardhan placed the wine glass on the counter and marched to the coffee table to pick his phone.

"Hello." his voice came out as slurry and heavy. In the absence of Anjana, the sadness made him take the support of alcohol.

His eyes narrowed, straining his ears to listen to the person talking on the other ends.

"What do you mean they took him? How dare anyone touch my son!" within seconds he jumped like a lion, with venom in his voice, ready to kill the next person he sees before him.

His roared pulled everyone's attention to him, and Noor-Arjun came running into the bar area.

"What is it, dad?" Arjun inquired, worried about his dad's reaction.

Noor bites her tongue, refraining herself from speaking in the presence of her husband. Though, she understood there was bad news waiting for them.

"Dad, please say something. You are scaring me."

Harshwardhan looked lost in his rage, muttering some incoherent word as he began walking to the door. Watching him leave, Arjun and Noor followed him with no delay. Harshwardhan pulled out his car keys from his pocket and punched it in the keyhole to open the door.

"Dad, Let me drive. You are drunk." Arjun politely suggested seeing Harshwardhan shaking form. It was for rage, fear, or just alcohol that has to be yet concluded by him.

Harshwardhan allowed Arjun to take the wheel while he sat next to him, and Noor took the back seat. There were so many questions floating in everyone's mind, but they were too afraid to ask, especially now when Harshwardhan looked no less than a wounded lion.

Harshwardhan refused to give away the place name. He kept directing Arjun until he leaned forward and abruptly asked Arjun to hit the brake. Without Warning, Arjun followed his dad's command, and the car halted in the middle of the dead street. Arjun looked around, there was nothing, his eyes were once again on Harshwardhan, seeking answers.

Harshwardhan legs wobble as he took big strides and forced himself to cover the distance between him and the few trees around. Then the anger in him amplified as the huge gate appeared before him. Harshwardhan mildly agitated by the alcohol effect and with a bruised ego entered the police station.

Arjun turned his head back to Noor and gestured her to stay in the car as he read 'Police station' before him. Noor didn't wish to stay behind. The curiosity to understand the unknown was eating her inside. She wanted to join them, but then her fear of defying her husband crept in and she reluctantly halted her footsteps. Arjun tried to walk as closely as his legs could allow, next to his dad, just in case he trips due to alcohol. The door to the place that he never stepped into his life was only a foot away, Arjun turned once more to check on Noor. She was in the car. The sight momentarily relaxed him before it got replaced with confusion as he heard his father's voice. He looked up with a scowl. His father's hands were on Police officer's collar as The Mr. Harshwardhan Hooda, the powerful lawyer in town, asked with rage and vulnerability,

"What did you do to my son? Where is he? Is he alive?"

A few Hours Ago...

"I am not letting anyone else get you!"

The unspoken promises he made had snatched Zoya's peace. There was something in Aditya's eyes that day, which made her frightened. The fear was not for him; it was for herself. Ever since his last visit, she couldn't blink her eyes without thinking about him. And whenever his voice echoed inside her, she felt betrayed by her feelings.
