*Flashback to yesterday before everyone left the office*

While everyone proceeded to leave the office, Rudra ensured that everyone left except Dhruv. He needed to discuss something important with him. Just then, as Ananya was about to head out, she turned back to Rudra. "Rudra? Aren't you coming?"

"Nahi, Ananya. Mujhe kuch kaam baaki hai. Tum jao, I'll see you at home."

Ananya looked at him strangely. "Are you sure? Agar tumhe kuch madat chahiye, main yahan rahungi."

"No, don't worry." he implied with an expression warning her to not push forward with her request to stay.

"Okay," Ananya shrugged and walked out the door. She proceeded to catch an auto back home.

Just then, Dhruv was about to follow behind, but Rudra stopped him. "Dhruv?"

"Haan, Rudra?"

"Aapse kuch important baatein discuss karna tha. Mere cabin mein aaoge?"

"Okay," Dhruv nodded. "Pareshaan lag rahe ho. Sab theek hai?" he added curiously, while walking to his cabin.

"Haan, theek hai," Rudra began. "Par main bas puchna chahta tha ki...aapka aur Ananya ka rishta kya hai?"

"Coworkers hai hum dono. Saath mein kaam karte hain," Dhruv replied nonchalantly. "Bilkul aap aur Maya ki tarah."

"Dhruv," Rudra replied pensively, implying that Dhruv had hit a nerve.

"Relax, Rudra. Maine jhooth thodi na bola." Dhruv smirked inwardly. "And then...aaj kal aisa lag raha hai ki...hum dost ban gaye hain. Ek dusre ko bure waqt mein saath de rahe hain humlog. Apne doston ko bhi sahara dete ho na? Hum sab karte hain. Jaise aap Maya ko saath dete ho inke bure waqt mein. I don't think ki iss mein koi buri baat hai."

"Dhruv, you're talking too much. Stay in your limits! Otherwise, I'll have you fired this instant!" he snapped.

"Sorry, Rudra," Dhruv apologized genuinely. "I was only being honest. I promise ki mere aur Ananya ke beech dosti ke alaava kuch nahi hai. I respect you, her, Maya, and this company. I know better than to make a move on my boss's fiance, and if I said something out of turn, I really apologize for that."

Rudra sighed with guilt, sensing Dhruv's honest and genuine apology. He felt bad for lashing out at him like that over something stupid.

"Koi nahi, Dhruv. I shouldn't have lashed out at you like that. In fact, I should be glad that you're being a good friend to Ananya, despite everything happening here."

Isn't that your job as her childhood friend? Dhruv thought angrily, but kept his thoughts to himself.

"Chal, koi nahi, let's forget it," Dhruv replied with a charismatic smile. "Let's grab some cold coffee and chaat together! Maybe it'll take our minds off all this."

Then, Dhruv, feigned fear as if he broke a professional boundary. A boss wasn't a college friend who you could easily invite for chaat. However, Rudra gave him a reassuring look. "Sure, let's go!"

After all, he could really use a guy friend to talk to.

Rudra and Dhruv went to the nearest chaat stall on the way, and ordered some vada pav and cold coffee.

As the two were enjoying their food, and having casual conversation about their lives, Dhruv suddenly asked, "Rudra, main ek baat puchoon? Bura na maane toh..?"

"Bolo, Dhruv. You can ask me anything."

"Ananya...aapke bachpan ke dost hai na?"

"Haan....tumhe kaise pata?"
